Jamie’s POV: We were finally ready. Peyton stood nervously in front of the ice wall, her fingers absently fiddling with her nails as she stared at the barrier. It was clear she was trying to contain her anxiety, but the fidgeting gave her away. “You’ve got this,” I said, offering her a reassuring smile as I gently rubbed up and down her arms. "Just breathe." “I can’t mess this up, Jamie,” she replied, her voice tight with apprehension. “One slip-up, and I’ll be trapped in there with—who knows what monsters are behind these walls?” She glanced down at me, her worry obvious. “You should be worrying about the ones who’ll try to attack you, not me,” I countered, trying to lighten the mood.
