Chapter Twenty-Three I left the academy at five in the afternoon on Saturday and found Mr. Manchester waiting for me just two blocks away, where he said in his letter he would be. He graciously opened the passenger door of his Ford Model A and with a broad grin motioned for me to enter. We drove through Richmond to the railway station. “Why does your friend wish to meet with me on the train?” I asked in Hindi. “Well,” Mr. Manchester said, “he is a very busy man, and he is only here in Richmond for a short period of time.” He also used the Hindi language.
