Chapter Fifteen
Fuse and I were on our way to the tennis courts when we heard someone coming up behind us.
“Fuse, Raji,” he said.
We turned to see Cadet Barlow.
“What’s up?” Fuse asked.
“There’s a cadet meeting in the day room at eight o’clock. You two need to be there. Where’s Liz?”
“She is doing homework,” I said. “I will tell her.”
“All right.” Barlow hurried on to tell the others.
At 8 p.m., half the juniors were in the day room.
Cadet Captain Davenport stood on a chair at the front of the room. When everyone quieted down, he said, “Cadet Herbert Conway is shunned.”
There was complete silence for a moment, then everyone started talking.
