Chapter Three

I pulled into my driveway and noticed a moving truck next door, so being curious, I sat in my car and continued to look over to see if I saw anyone and to my surprise I saw Noah and an older lady carrying boxes inside and out of the house. He notices me staring and I lose my thoughts.

I grab my stuff and walk out the car and I'm then greeted by the older lady Noah was with.

"Hi. I'm Kathy, Noah's Aunt". She smiles, shaking my hand and I give her a small smile.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Ava".

Noah approaches both of us, standing there and not saying a word.

"This is Noah my nephew". His aunt says and Noah rolls his eyes looking away.

"We go to the same school". I say smiling and she widens her eyes finally realizing why Noah and I are being awkward towards each other.

"Well, it was nice meeting you but I got to go, I'm pretty sure I'm already in enough trouble as it is since I got detention". I say giving Noah a glare and he smirks.

"What the hell is wrong with you? You're 25 minutes late and I got a call from your school telling me you had detention and got your phone taken"! My dad shouts at me as soon as I walk in the house.

I was used to my dad screaming at me a lot so it didn't really affect me. My dad was never abusive physically, just emotionally. He does it to everyone including my mom, Josh, and I. My mom says he has bi-polar depression but that still doesn't give him an excuse to treat my whole family and I like s**t.

"You're exaggerating. I was only 10 minutes late because I was talking to the new neighbors and I got detention because of someone else. It wasn't my fault". I say in an angry tone causing him to get angrier.

"Whose fault was it then"?

"Noah's". I mumble and my dad scoffs.

"How the hell did he get you detention"?

"I-". before I could finish my sentence he interrupted me.

"You're grounded".

"But it's not my fault"! I shout.

"Go to your room"! He shouts back and me and I walk up to my room slamming the door behind me.

Hours go by and I'm still in my room currently doing History homework when I hear my mom yell from downstairs.

"Ave time for Dinner"!

"Coming"! I yell back, getting up from my bed walking downstairs to see two extra plates at the table.

"Mom why are there two extra plates"?

"Oh, the new neighbors are coming over". She smiles, placing the food on the table.

As soon as my butt hits the chair the doorbell rings.

"Their here"! My mom shouts with excitement as she runs to the door.

"Hi nice to meet you. My name is Jennifer". I hear my mom say from the other room.

I turn around and my brown eyes are met with a pair of greenish blueish ones. He has a different outfit on tonight. He has on a white t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up, the same ripped skinny jeans on from earlier and brown boots. Through the white t-shirt I'm able to see the tattoos he has on his chest a little bit.

"Hi love". He smiles sitting next to me.

"I told you to stop calling me that". I say taking a drink of soda for my glass.

"Ava this is Noah and this his Aunt-". I then cut off my mom.

"Kathy. I know I met them later today after school". I mumble and my mom nods continuing to talk to Kathy.

I sit back and ignore everything around me until I notice one thing and one thing only. Josh isn't here. Just as I'm about to ask where he's at, the door opens and Josh comes walking in yelling "What's up fam"!

"Josh, no yelling inside". My dad says angrily and Josh mumbles a small sorry, sitting down next to me.

"So, Noah, tell us more about yourself". My mom says to Noah while handing me the bowl of salad.

"Well, I was born in Doncaster England. I'm 19. My birthday is a day before Christmas". Noah began to say and I blanked out after that.

It's 30 minutes into dinner and I have the sudden urge to pee so I excuse myself and go to the bathroom and handle my business. After that I wash my hands and I open the door and standing in front of me is Noah.

"Excuse me, may I help you with something"? I try and move but Noah has me trapped.

"I told you love. This game has just begun and soon I'll have you wrapped around my finger". He whispers in my ear and kisses my neck softly making me gasp. He then slams his lips on mine and pulls away leaving me breathless.

He walks into the bathroom and closes the door. I then make my way back downstairs and see everyone laughing and talking.

"Sweetie did you want dessert"? My mom asks and I nod my head.

Noah then comes downstairs moments later sitting next to me, not looking at me pretending as if nothing happened a few minutes ago.

"Did you find the bathroom"? My mom asked Noah and he smiled while nodding.

"Ava helped me".

I gave him a glare and he smirked at me.

We all ate dinner and it was now 9:00 at night and we were just sitting in the living room talking.

"So, Noah, what do you want to do once you're done with high school"? My fathers ask, and Noah clears his throat.

"A musician".

My father gives my mother a weird look and soon excuses himself upstairs.

We continue talking more and more about school and whatever else my mom brought and soon we say our goodbyes to Noah and his Aunt. I head up to my room and Josh goes to his as well while my parents stay downstairs.

I call Cassidy and ask her if I can come over and she says yes so I grab my phone and head over to Cassidy's through my back door. She lives down the street so it's very convenient for me to go over to her house anytime I need. All I do is climb out my window and go the back way and then I end up at her house.

As soon as I get to her house I knock on her window and she answers smiling.

"So tell me everything".

"Well turns out Noah's Mom passed away 2 years ago and his dad was abusive and he hasn't seen him since he was 9 and he hasn't been in contact with his sister in 3 years ago". I tell Cassidy and she widens her eyes then gives me a confused look.

"Earlier when I was talking to Noah he made it sound like his mom was still alive"?

"That's weird. Maybe you just couldn't tell that he was speaking in past tense" I shrug and she nods, agreeing with me.

Oh, and also when I went to the bathroom he was outside waiting for me and when I opened the door he just kissed me out of nowhere and he said and I quote "I told you love. This game has just begun and soon I'll have you wrapped around my finger". I say mocking Noah's british accent and Cassidy laughs.

"Wow that's a lot. He's charming". She giggles and I roll my eyes.

"Yeah and is it bad I actually kind of liked the kiss"? I blushed a little and she squealed.

"Ooh does someone have a crush on the insanely hot British boy".

"Shut up I do not. I just said I liked the kiss and you need to stop calling him hot before Liam hears you and he gets butthurt". We then both laugh and that's when I notice the time.

"Can I stay the night. I'll head out by five so your parents won't know". I say and she nods standing up.

"Of course. Here are some blankets and I'll see you in the morning If I'm not still sleeping". She hands me blankets and a pillow and I get on the floor in a comfortable position.

"Make sure to dream about British boy". She giggles getting under her covers.

"Shut up". I laugh and she laughs turning off her light.

"Goodnight Ava".

"Goodnight Cassidy".
