Chapter 9Namir blew out a breath. This was a mess. He didn’t know anything about the Oakmouth community. Hell, he didn’t know anything about the Myrfolk community. He hadn’t left his garden until earlier today, not in daylight, at least. He liked creeping around Chaton’s garden in the middle of the night. It was peaceful there, and the scents of Rue and Chaton were familiar. What he did know was they couldn’t leave a child in captivity. “He won’t harm her, right?” No sane person would harm a four-year-old, but this Czar person didn’t sound sane. “Not unless he believes I’ve failed him.” Jinx cradled his head in his hands again.
