"I recognized you instantly, all of our lives flashed through my mind in a split second. I felt a pull so strongly towards you that I almost couldn't stop it." - J. Sterling _________________________________________________________________________________________ Blythe's P.O.V. _________________________________________________________________________________________         Wolves.... Pack wolves...       Judging from the powerful aura, most probably a Beta is present. A well-built, attractive man walks from behind them and stands before me. So this, is the Beta. "Who are you? And what are you doing here?" He inquires.       Well I being myself take a light breath to consider forming a lie smoothly, "Um... My name's Blythe. Um...I was at a party with my friends and I walked into the woods to clear my head in the midst of it. Three men approached me and tried to... um... acted... Um.... Tried to misbehave with me. I ran away from them as they chased me. I stopped here realizing they had stopped too. But um... they are not here." I stammer for a dramatic effect hoping that I sound convincing.     Lying had never been my piece of cake.     And that is a lie.     The Beta looks at me thoughtfully and mind links someone. I gaze into his eyes and concentrate on his mind link. Oh didn't I mention?... I can listen to wolves' mind linking if I concentrate. Well, perks of being a she-Silverette. "Alpha, she doesn't have any scent. Even humans have scents but she doesn't and claims to have been chased all over here from a party. The only party around here tonight is nearly twelve miles away."      What!? I ran all the way! Way to lie smoothly! Merlin's pants!     "Bring her to the PIR, Jake." Shoot! What the hell is PIR? Parent in Room?! Pee in Rocket? But that has a "A"     "Sure, Alpha"    "Please come with me. Our Al- head wants to meet you," he tells me. "Um... Okay..." I drag hesitatingly. Taking my hesitation as a sign of my mundane nature, "It's alright Blythe, we're just trying to help you," he says patiently. I nod, signaling him to lead the way.    I'm escorted into a well modernized building. white marbled floor with accentuated grey walls which gives both creepy and chilling vibes. The place was quite apart from an occasional tapping away on the keyboards or a muffled cough. A platinum-blonde smiles at the Beta, as she walks up to us. her blonde hair was pulled back into a tight bun giving her a 'no-nonsense' look. Her hips clad in a steel grey pencil skirt intentionally sway as she comes over and hands him a key.   We take the elevator to the ninth level, after he inserts the provided key into a keyhole. The Beta, whom I had assumed to be Jake, walks me into the Pack Interrogation Room as mentioned on the automated sliding doors. So this is what PIR means. He pressed his thumb onto a fingerprint scanner. There was a large conference table with chairs surrounding it. He motions me to sit and walks out himself. Son of a biscuit.     I sit myself at the very end of the table, meddling with my silver bracelet. As I'm left alone in the room, I strain my ears to listen to what's happening beyond the doors.     There were footsteps. Strong, domineering but somehow down-to-earth footsteps. Seems like an Alpha. Probably some stuck-up one.     Okay, I seem creepy, judging footsteps.     They halt just outside the doors, where I assume Jake is. Then I hear the most soothing, melodious and husky voice I have ever heard.  "Where is she?"  "She is inside, Rick. I told her that you wanted to meet her."     Rick?! I hope it is a common name.   Before Mr. Husky voice replies, another person comes running to these two, making Jake utter, "Whoa! Slow down, Chris." "Alpha, our men have found two dead bodies in the area you told to search. Both seem to be rogues. Murdered in a very gruesome manner. Clothes were ripped and the bodies were soaked in blood. We're digging further in because the blood stench seems to be spread to the other end of the woods," said the third person.     Oh my Goddess! This is getting serious. Why do they interfere so much?      'Maybe coz you have murdered rogues on their territory,' intervenes my wolf. 'I've done a favor then right, I've killed rogues for them.' 'But they think you are human, and a human murdering three he-rogues in a 'gruesome' way is not favorable,' she chimes. Dang, the wolf is right!     "Search further and keep me updated." Once again my Mr. Husky voice replies. Chris mumbles a "Sure Alpha, will do" and walks off. As soon as he walks off the Beta begins, "Something's off."     "Yeah, I feel that too. You know what, I'll deal with that girl. I'll talk to her and see. Are you sure she is completely mundane?" to which the Alpha receives no response. And then there's complete silence. Not the one with peace, calm and warmth but the one with lots of unspoken questions hanging in the air.     After a never-ending minute, the doors slide open as a mixture of pinewood, fig-tree and lemon, all my favourite scents rolled in one, fills the air. All of a sudden I find it hard to breathe. My lungs seem to fight for oxygen. This scent is so overwhelming and nostalgic.      No... No... No... This can't happen. This can't be him. I feel his scent wrap around me.     As an answer to my million questions in mind, I find the most captivating and memorable blue eyes settle in front of me. And my wolf chants for the second time in my life,"Mate! Mate! Mate!"
