Yippie Ki Yay

Melina was a huge help around the new house, it turns out she is an excellent cook. Jer and I were grateful for her cooking, and her nesting instincts were kicking in. I was trying to teach Jer how to ride horses, he was refusing to actually ride without a cup. I rolled my eyes as I helped him up on the horse and we rode around the grounds. He was upset about his brother joining the army but I told him at least he was learning to grow up. There were so many nooks and crannies to explore, Jer and I were excited about all the buildings and underground passages. We were in seventh heaven and wanted to have our own Youtube Ghost Adventures style show. I mean we had all this great potential; the place was a fortress once upon a time. Melina was slightly creeped out by the place and the gruesome history behind it. She was a trooper though and has been committed to this place. She said even if she had to call in her granny to help cleanse the spirits and give them peace. “Anna, can we hold up, I feel like someone stomped on my boy parts.” I snorted and rolled my eyes at him. I took out my cellphone and saw there was a text from Melina, there was someone at the house to help with the work and yard work. I frowned and looked at Jer holding the phone out for him to see. “Did you order a cabana boy or something?” He laughed and shook his head. “Maybe Sinclair sent someone to help out since he can’t do most of the stuff anymore since his heart issue.” I typed a response and pulled on the reins and headed back towards the house. Jer let out a groan and kicked the horse’s sides and complained every inch of the way back to the house. I saw Melina talking to the man on the front steps as we came up to the house. She was blushing and playing with her hair. Jer let out a low whistle and was staring at the guy’s butt. I jumped off the horse and patted her neck. “Melina, who do we have here?” The man turned around and I nearly flew at him and clawed his eyes out. He saw the look on my face and put his hands up to try and stop me. Melina stood in front of him blocking me from beating him within an inch of his life. “It isn’t Gregor Mackenzie, turns out he has a younger brother that was abroad.” I looked and the man looked like Mack but he wasn’t him. I let out a sigh and cursed Mack, this poor guy wasn’t even him and I wanted to rip his head off. “I’m Sullivan Mackenzie. Sinclair told me that you may need some help around the new place. Would you like to see my resume?” I shook his hand and gave him the side-eye. Jer came up behind me and rolled his eyes at me. “Excuse my friend here, your brother kind of burned her and she has a thing against Gregor Mackenzie.” Sullivan nodded and looked embarrassed. “My brother is a bit of a tool and I apologize if he let a dish like you get away.” I snorted and walked away. “Welcome to Holly Hall Sullivan. Jer can show you around I’m going to put the horses up. I felt slightly bad about how I was treating the younger Mackenzie, but right now the family wasn’t high on my list of people I wanted in my life. My phone rang again it was Alexei and I hoped he had good news. Maybe Claire went crazy and threw herself off a cliff. Sighing I could only hope, I know I shouldn’t harbor any ill will towards the woman, but I did and I hated Gregor as well. “Hey there hot stuff, am I going to see you this weekend?” He chuckled and I felt the butterflies in my stomach flutter. “I will definitely be there; I will also be able to stay for a week this time. Now I have some interesting news about Gregor Mackenzie.” I scoffed and was getting ready to hang up the phone on him. “Sweetie just hear me out ok. Yes, he is being a douche and I really don’t want you to go back to him because I’d rather have you all to myself.” I smiled and realized he couldn’t see me, so I guess I could hear him out. “Alright. Since you were so sweet about it, what is this interesting tidbit of news you need to tell me.” He laughed again, he had a sexy laugh and I wished he would laugh more often. He hasn’t laughed much since this whole ordeal started. “Honestly, I would rather you not know and just go about wanting to bury him, but it isn’t fair. The only reason he is staying with Claire is because they may have a kid together.” I sat down on bale of hay and felt like someone punched me in the stomach. It made sense I suppose, it just didn’t make it better though. “Huh, well I suppose that could explain why he would stay with her. That doesn’t mean I forgive him though. Thank you, Alexei.” I hung up and sat there staring into space. It made me feel bad that I didn’t think of the big picture. I just thought he betrayed me, and I guess in a way he did. Claire lied to him though, and I still hated them both. She was toying with Mack and she took my home from me. I wrinkled my nose and thought about it, I had people that could look into it for me. Ok well when I meant people, I was talking about Jer. I finished taking care of the horses and found him in the kitchen with Melina. She was family so I decided to let her in on the secret too. First, I had to make sure the younger Mackenzie was nowhere around. “Where is Sullivan?” Jer raised his eyebrows and smirked, I ignored him he was always thinking perverted thoughts. “He left for the day, and said he would come back tomorrow with Eugenia and Sinclair.” I smiled, I missed Eugenia and Sinclair. “Great, so here is the deal and I am going to need your help Jer, Melina if you know people then your help is needed too.” They were both hanging on every word I said, I know Jer was all about the gossip. “So the reason the older Mackenzie is with that shrew is that she may actually have had a kid with him.” Jer’s mouth dropped open and Melina let out a few phrases I didn’t know. “That is interesting, do you need me to make Claire disappear?” I knew Melina disliked Claire and there were some issues with the two of them but no one was telling me anything. “Again, not right now, but thank you for the offer. I do want to find out if this wench really does have his kid or not.” Jer was deep in thought and then he snapped his fingers. “So if the kid isn’t his, are we getting your man back.” I frowned at him; no I was still going to hold a grudge against him. “She has the younger Mackenzie; besides I like Alexei, I am pro-Alexei.” Jer high-fived Melina and I rolled my eyes at both of them. “I have you two, I don’t need any men.” They high-fived again and then I put my hand in the middle of them. Jer raised his eyebrows he knew what was next. “Yippie Ki Yay?” I nodded and repeated after him, we looked at Melina and she put her hand in and said it too. I wasn’t ready to forgive Gregor Mackenzie but at least I could have some answers as to why he was with that shrew.
