Chapter 5 Go For Fun

1126 Words
Sophia's POV I spent the rest of that day and the two days cooped up in my room, attempting to avoid seeing Blade. I knew it was not the bravest way to cope with things but I needed the time alone to think clearly. Despite my pain I could not keep Blade's perfect face and dark eyes out of my mind. He haunted me every second of the day and kept me tossing and turning at night. It was constant turmoil. What Blade said to me coupled with my inner battle made me stressed and unable to sleep. It was very fortunate that Blade's brother Noah showed up in these two days to offer me food and take some sense into me. A really nice man. I looked at the floor and was going to stir-crazy, aimlessly pacing my room or blankly staring at the TV. Then an impatient rap came from my door before Aria entered my room, staring at me worriedly. "Hey Sapphire, I knew I'd find you trapped here. I understand staying here the first day but this is the third day honey." "Sorry Aria, I…I just feel awkward going in public and your brother don't want to see me…" My voice sounded slightly hurt. "You know Noah and I are worried about you. It isn't your fault." "I know that. Now part of me wants him and don't wanna give him up. A pretty big part. But he's so cold, making my heart fall into pieces yet I still want him. How screwed up that?" Understanding glimmered in her expression. "He's your Mate, Sapphire. It would be even stranger if you didn't want him. He's destined for you." "But I can't stand him! He's...well, you know." Aria's expression became more solemn. "I won't lie to you. I also hate what he became. You have a difficult decision ahead. But that doesn't mean you can beat yourself up over something that is out of your control." I curled my lips and glanced at her morosely. She grabbed my hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "Maybe you're meant to help him. Make him less of an asshole!" I couldn't help a small smile from emerging after that, and Aria grinned in return. "That's better. Sometimes it's useful to talk ill behind him. Besides, I'm making you get out of the pack house tonight. We can forget about all of this. And then you can make choice by yourself, help him or give him up." I nodded, "Where are we going? Like a run?" I frowned, puzzled. "No, I'll take you to the human town." She smirked and winked at me. I heard the human town but I'd never been to. I heard many wolves worked there at least part-time to earn a living. Before I came here, Megan often took Julia to the human town to go shopping and buy necessities or groceries, especially fresh meat. I'd like to come together but every time they just ignored me by throwing me heavy house work. So I didn't know what it looks like and didn't know how to go there. Aria told me the human city was on the other side of the mountains that encircled our valley. The only way to get there was to run or drive on a hidden road that human couldn't find it. About 30 minutes running, we shifted into the human form before setting foot in the human town. I felt surprised as I looked at the noisy town that was crowded with people, among which some werewolf smell was included. I was shocked as Aria dragged me into a club where hundreds of people were crowded on the floor, the stench of alcohol and smoke flooded my lungs. "This is the new club that just opened up. We can try it." Aria patted me on the back, "Go and find some fun-" Her words were cut off by a sharp but familiar voice. "Wow look what I find here." My heart skipped suddenly when I saw the face of the blonde who came towards me. Grace Turner. "So why are you here? Oh I know, Blade doesn't want you, so you come here for other guys?" She giggled and I saw Aria toss her an angry look from aside. "Like Blade would ever want you or you'll not be here right?" I sulked as I saw her delicate little face crinkle. "You!" She sneered, "I guess I'm just confused, confused why you, Sapphire?" I remained quiet as my Wolf growled softly. "Normally the Alpha's Mate is supposed to be...powerful, assertive, brave. The only thing you have is weakness and cowardice." I knew she meant I didn't deserve Blade. I also admitted I was weak. But burning with anger and insulted pride, I spoke before thinking. "Yeah, I'm not any of those things but at least I'm not a b***h, either." A snarl emanated from her throat and she wanted to approach me. "Back off Grace, or I'll tell my brother you provoked our Luna Sapphire. You think he'll believe me or you?" Aria said warningly. "We'll see who is really right for Blade." Then Grace stared at us sternly before turning away. "Oh that b***h finally go, come on Sapphire, let's go dance." Aria dragged me to the dance floor. It was my first time at a party, and a crazy one at that but contrary to my expectations, I started enjoying my time. Forgetting that cold man temporarily. I was never a heavy drinker, so it only took a few glasses to get me drunk and to start dancing on the floor with a few other complete strangers.   Blade's POV Loud music overwhelmed me when I stepped into the Night Club.   I was almost crazy when I heard from Noah that Aria and she went there in the human town. How could she go to that place where surrounded by horny human crash? She was a werewolf but how could an innocent heart survive in dodgy methods planned by cunning humans? Fortunately, I knew Mike, the owner of this club, also my pack member. I called him in the first time and let him ensure Sapphire's safety before I came. "Alpha Blade, Luna Sapphire is there." Mike pointed in a direction and I saw her dancing with a man on the dance floor. It was obviously the alcohol already had an effect on her. That man grabbed her waist and she let him, in fact she smiled at him. HOW DARE SHE! How could she let another man touch her? She became my Luna just in few days and she was already making out with other else? "Threw him out." I ordered icily.
