Sapphire's POV
"Noah! I'm so happy! Our big bro finally gets his mate! May be she is his cure!"
"Hush, Aria, you know what Blade is like, he'll scold you if he hears."
"Come on, do you think so either?"
"Of course. He has been like this almost 6 years. I really hope she can help him."
"Do you think Blade will let her stay?"
"I don't know but I hope so. Hope he isn't such cruel to his own mate."
I tried figuring out whose voices I was hearing, but my mind was a mess. I couldn't remember anything, all I knew was that I couldn't open my eyes. I tried making noise, I tried moving, but I found I couldn't do anything. All I heard was a heart monitor going crazy and all I felt was endless pain before plunging into the darkness again.
When I was finally able to wake up, all my memories came to me. My head ached as I remembered everything that had happened. My half-sister tried to kill me during the rogue attack, and I was saved by a strange man but with those familiar blue eyes…
Wait, Could he…
The door opened just as I tried to sit up but a throb of agony from my rib made a moan escape from my mouth.
The man who saved me quickly came to my side when he saw that.
"How are you feeling?" He grabbed my hand and picked up my waist, helping me sit up. As soon as he touched me, sparks flew through my hand and waist, leaving a tingling sensation. I frowned and looked up. I met a pair of bright Caribbean blue eyes staring back at me. My wolf howled "Mate" excitedly in my heart even if she was injured. I tried to be clam and figured how he looked like.
His hair was as dark as midnight and tousled, really a good look on him, but I couldn't think of it in an admirable way knowing who he was. He had high cheekbones and his jawline was chiseled sharp and looked like it could pierce through anything. I was dazzled at just how stunningly attractive this werewolf was. He smelled amazing, he had an earthy aroma like sandalwood.
The set of blue orbs were intensely gazing at me as if he was searching for something. But at once something flickered through them and he averted his gaze. Clearing his throat he stepped back.
"Uh, yeah, I feel better. Thanks for saving me, sir." I bore the pain and tried to put on a smile but I failed.
"Good. As a werewolf, you're so weak. Make yourself stronger. And next time not everyone could bully you." His tone became cold, not even like the same person he was in the previous seconds. I curled my lips and measured him with my eyes. He was about 6'2, really strong. I assumed he to be the Alpha or beta based on the level of power radiating from him. I opened my mouth and wanted to say something but his unaffectionate words sounded in the room.
"Look, Sapphire, I still have some pack affairs. Call my sister Aria if you have anything need." Then he turned and prepared to leave.
"Wait sir I haven't know your na-" The door banged shut as he even didn't wait for my reply.
I stunned as I saw the closed door. What does he mean? Did I say something wrong?
"What a weirdo." I sighed.
After a while, a slight knock came.
"Yes?"
The door opened and a girl who looked to be at same age with me took the plate coming towards me. A big smile spread on her face which warmed me as if it could melt my frozen ice in my heart.
"Sapphire? I'm Aria, alpha's little sister. Feel hungry?"
I nodded with a faint smile too. Indeed, I hadn't eaten for a long time. I was so weak and needed energy to let my wolf heal my body quickly.
"Thank you, Aria." I said as I took over the plate. She sat on my bed and covered my hand.
"I'm sooooo happy for Blade to find you. You know he has been waiting for you for so long."
B-Blade? My mind was processing what she just said. Wait a minute...it can't be...can it?
"Last name! What's his last name?" I asked in hurry and couldn't wait to know the answer. My heart pumped in quick and I was afraid my fate would disappoint me again.
"Blade, Blade Hill. Is anything wrong?" Aria answered confused.
"So here is the Midnight Pack?"
Aria nodded her head.
Blade Hill, the one I had been waiting for 11 years, the one who gave me the sapphire necklace, the one who supported me holding on in my heart when every time I was bullied and insulted. I touched my necklace and tears stung my eyes. I finally met you. We fulfilled our promise and became mates. But where was the sunny boy who liked smiling before? And who was the cold one now? Didn't he recognize me?
"Sapphire, what's wrong? Are you hurting? I can call the pack doctor." Aria's worried voice sounded around my ear, making me come to earth.
"No, no need Aria. I just remembered I've met him in my mother's funeral a dozen years ago. He was typical the boy who liked smiling and was always optimistic. What happened to him?" I wiped my tears and tried to find the reason.
Aria paused and I could see she became intense.
"He went through something when he was a kid. Something horrible and dark that makes him totally changed. He was a really nice guy. He needs your help Sapphire. You're a warm girl who own a pure heart. I and my second brother Noah, both we believe that your appearance will heal him. Be his light and illuminate his dark past. Don't give him up." Tears in her eyes swirling as she looked at me sincerely.
"Can I do it? I afraid I-"
"No one can make it if you can't." She cut me off as her hands held mine tighter, encountering my eyes firmly.
I nodded. Her words touched me and I indeed should become patient with him. It was said that when a wolf found his soul mate, they would feel a bonding that can pull them closer. I hope I could change him and take real Blade Hill back.
After a hearty meal, I took a nap after Aria left. When I wake up again, I felt my rib fused together and it was easier to move my limbs. I felt boring for lying on the bed so long, so I got out of the bed and wanna move around the pack house.
I walked out of the door and came to the pack garden. I smiled as I saw some pups were throwing mud, laughing and chatting. Then a woman who wore a maid suit carried a plate of fruits coming from the corner. She bowed and greeted as she stopped in front of me.
"Luna."
Luna? The news spread so fast. I gave her an awkward smile before. "It's just Sapphire."
"Okay, my lady. I'm Caterina, alpha's maid. He asked me to send some fruits to his office." She responded politely.
"Uh, well-could you show me where is his office? Leave it to me. I can do it." The first step to change him was close to him actively.
"Of course my lady. Go straight and come across the garden, then the first wooden door of the red house you see is the Alpha's office." She gave me the plate as she winked at me.
"Thank you." I smiled back and turned to leave.
Looking up the grand building in front of me, I felt a little nervous. I took a deep breath and knocked the wooden door cheerfully.
"What?!" A shout came from inside.
A sudden pain passed through my body before I walked in. I held my bosom and I pushed the door open after the pain released a little.
I froze. My heart stopped in my chest as my breath hitched at my throat. My hands shook at my sides, as I took in the sight before me.
His hands were wrapped tightly around her waist and hers were around his neck; Her hand was touching his hair and he held her ass. A sharp pain hit me, even worse than the pain of my mom's death. Tears blinded my vision as I still had a hand on my chest that pained physically.
The plate in my hand was dropped to the ground, fruits scattering around. And my heart was broken either.
I tried to look up at Blade's face, my gaze meeting his.
Guilty in his blue eyes flashed across but he quickly masked it. His normal cold expression reappeared on his perfect face.
"Who are you? Don't you see I have important business with Alpha?"
