Sapphire's POV
I woke up in the morning and felt the sunlight on my face. My head hurts and I tried to think about what happened yesterday.
Wasn't I in the club dancing with a man called Scott?
How could I back to the pack house?
Wait, did Blade appear later? I remembered he seemed to be angry and I…called him jerk?!
What the hell?! I called the alpha Blade jerk? I was so jerked.
A knock sounded just when I patted my head regretfully and tried to remember other things.
"Sapphire? Are you awake?" Noah's voice came from the other side of the door.
"Yes, come in please."
Noah pushed the door open by holding the breakfast.
"Wow, Noah, I can do this myself. My body is healed. You don't need to send me food." I eagerly took the food and placed it on the table.
Noah grinned as he came close to me, "Little Sapphire, what happened yesterday? It's Blade who held you back~"
Suddenly my face turned red. Did he hold me back? Did he feel our mating bond? I felt a little bit happy. "Did he say something?"
"No, just let me don't wake you up. His tone was still cold, but I can see his difference. Something will be changed!"
"Is that true?" Hope grew in my heart again.
Noah nodded.
"Oh right, still one thing. Do your family eat breakfast together?" I asked.
"Yeah, there is a maid who is responsible for cooking for us. What's wrong?"
"Uh…my body is healed and I want to do something for you guys, like cook breakfast for you." I asked shyly.
"Aha you want to cook for Blade do you?" Noah said with a cheeky grin.
"Ha-ha- I just want do something. Staying at home is too boring. Let me do something. Whatever, cleaning, doing chores, cooking, everything is ok."
"Easy Sapphire, I understand your feeling that you want to take your effort for the pack. But now you're the Luna, who should receive respect from all pack members. You don't need to do those things for us, except Blade. He paused and continued, "Actually your major task is to heal Blade, illuminate his darkest part. Feel free to use everything if you need, like cookhouse." He winked at me.
"Emm, alright, thanks Noah. I know what I should do." I nodded with a smile and he left after I finished the breakfast.
Staying at the Midnight Pack for these days, I had already made bonding with pack members, which meant I could mind link someone I know.
I mind linked Caterina that I told her I wanted to cook some cookies for Blade and required her to show me the cookhouse. She agreed and lead me to the cookhouse where owned various vegetables and meat. When I finally made cookies down, I met Aria who just woke up on the way to Balde's office. She greeted me with messy hair, yawning and rubbing her eyes.
"Where are you going Sapphire?" She lowered her head and saw the cookies I took, picking up one and putting into her mouth.
"What is it?" I smiled at her, expecting to know what was it tastes.
"Oh it tastes good." She praised as she smacked her lips. "You make for Blade?"
I nodded.
"I saw him walking into his office." She looked at her watch, "s**t, I'm late for the pack training. Noah will punish me again. I'll go Sapphire, see you ya." Then she left before I answered back.
I shook my head and thought sometimes she acted like a mature adult but other time she was still reckless, just like my little sister.
Sister. I thought about Julia. I hadn't seen her and my stepmother again since the day our pack was attacked. I missed my father, I didn't know how about he was. May be I can ask Blade. Thinking of this I mended my pace.
I knocked on the door of Blade's office lightly.
"What!" He shouted like before.
I pushed the door open and walked in.
"Hey, I come to thank you, thanks for taking me home yesterday." His eyes were still stick to the file on his desk instead of looking up.
"Here are some fresh cookies I made. Do you want some?"
Still be silent.
"Alpha Blade, do you think it's right that when someone sends you cookies, you don't even give a word of thank you?" I didn't mean to sound angry, but sometimes it was hard hiding my emotions, especially at this moment.
He looked up from his file and glared at me, "So do you think it's right that being the Luna, you still went to the club and even danced with the stranger?"
I was stunned. I never thought that he would say so. Was he jealous?
Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw him picking one cookie and taking a bite before I could say something.
I was shocked with eye widen after he made a face and spat his food in my face.
"What the f**k is this s**t?" He frowned with a disgusting look.
I pressed my lips in silence. A tear betrayed me by escaping my eyes and rolling down my cheek.
He took the plate of cookies and walked towards me. Once he was in front of me, he dropped the cookies and stomped on them.
"I don't like it. Don't ever make me anything again. Now, go." He turned away and went back to his work as if what he did was nothing.
His tone was just like how Megan said to me. Those harsh words had hurt me every day. Now my mate said the same words.
My lip quivered and tears sting my eyes. I hated what I was being like a coward so I looked up and spit words one by one.
"Alpha Blade, I don't know what happened to you in the past, and make you like this s**t. Now you're feeding your dark mind by hurting people. You're afraid to face the sun and start over. You think you're right to push others away, but in fact you feel inferior!"
His face turned colder after I said. I took a deep breath and continued, "You want to push me away again? Then I'm gonna stick with you. I'm your mate and I have nowhere else to go. If you want to continue to insult me and hurt me, fine, I'm ready, anyway I've suffered more than you think."
If this is the challenge that the Moon Goddess has given to me, then I accept it.
