Chapter Two- Unconscious Warmth

497 Words
The zombie hybrid gasped as he saw Quackity stumbling and grabbing onto tables to gain leverage. Wilbur's protective instincts kicked in despite him ‘hating’ the duck hybrid. He walked up and grabbed Quackity's hand, dragging him out of his own property. “Idiotic bird..” Wilbur hissed, though it held no malice. It was… almost fond? “Get off me..!” Quackity said, though it was harder to understand as his words were merging together. “No, you're drunk and I'm not having you hook up with some random man and regret it in the morning.” Quackity struggled some more before ultimately giving up and letting Wilbur lead him. Wilbur headed his direction to Quackity's mansion, opening the door and placing Quackity on the king bed. “I'm not a child! I can take care of myself.” He huffed, though Wilbur found it adorable. “Sure you can, duckie. Lay down and go to sleep. I'll take care of you in the morning too.” He chuckled as Quackity flopped onto his stomach, his wings flattening out and relaxing. Wilbur laid next to him, decided to be bold, caressing the feathers on Quackity's wing. The wing flutters and twitches, but Quackity doesn't pull away. He hummed softly after a couple minutes of petting, "Don't stop…. It's nice…” Wilbur froze, not expecting drunk Quackity to be honest. But he didn't complain, he rolled over so his elbow propped his head up, his free hand running its fingers through them more. Quackity's wings suddenly engulfed him into a feathery cocoon, Wilbur felt Quackity's body warmth against his. He couldn't be as angry as he should've been, he found he enjoyed it. Wilbur wrapped his arms around Quackity's waist, rolling onto his back so Quackity was lying on his stomach on top of him and his wings were comfy. Quackity stirred and nuzzled deeper into Wilbur's neck before falling back asleep. Suddenly, a loud chirp escaped Quackity's lips. Wilbur froze, pure childlike joy flashing on his face as he realises how darn cute his enemy could be. “Oh my god. That was adorable!” He whisper-shouted, trying to not wake up Quackity but unable to help himself from saying something. Wilbur started petting him like a cat, trying to emit more sounds from him. He brushed his fingers in between his head wing feathers, preening and grooming them, and as a result, a soft coo came from Quackity's chest even as the president was asleep. It was pure bliss for Wilbur to get this side of him, as he normally got the pissy, angry and ignorant side, which is fair as Wilbur does basically break into his country now and then. Wilbur's eyes started to feel heavy as he realised the time, the night was deep and starry. He wanted to savour the moment but Wilbur knew he needed sleep. He closed his eyes and let it take him into a comfortable haven, joining Quackity.
