As I stood there with all their eyes on me, my thoughts were literally spinning out of control. What was Zane doing speaking to my parents?
Had he told them what I did? Did they know everything? Was I banished from my pack? Did my parents hate me? What was happening?
Just as the questions kept storming in my head, I suddenly noticed something strange. My parents were smiling. They both had gentle smiles on their faces. Weird… Those smiles did nothing more than just confuse me.
“Honey, come… have a seat,” Mom said, with the warmest tone ever.
I didn’t get it. Wasn’t I in trouble?
I dropped my backpack on the floor and walked forward slowly towards the couch on the left side. As I was walking, I noticed Zane was looking me dead in the eyes and smiling gently at me.
