Too good to be true

"Aaah", her eyes widened as she stared at him without blinking. She couldn't believe that he was the one who just said that. She didn't think that he viewed her as sexy since they didn't know each other for long. She knew that he was now her husband and was free to call her whatever he wanted to. But then he was acting all nasty at that particular time. "Yes...", He nodded hastily as he helped her to wear her dress. He helped her to button up the dress and made her sit on the bed so that he could help her wear her shoes. "Why are you so good to me", she couldn't understand the reason why he was so gentle around her. This wasn't the first time that she was asking him that question. She thought that he was too good to be true. Everything he did to her seemed like pretense in her eyes. Since their marriage was arranged, she didn't think that he would be so good and gentle to her. Back then when she was informed about the wedding. She thought that she would get married to a boastful and arrogant prince. But that wasn't the case, the prince was so loving and caring. That's why she thought that he was too good to be true. "It's cause you are now my wife and the future mother of my kids. Even though am a vampire ain't a monster ", he mentioned as he sat beside her after he was done helping her dress up. He placed his hands on her thigh and looked straight into her eyes. He wanted to see if she had stopped to be shy around him. But just like how he had thought. She blushed again and didn't stare at him like how she was supposed to. She stared at the ground and failed to maintain eye contact with him. "I know that but you are too good to me I mean we hardly know each other but you act like we have known each other for the longest time ever. You behave like we love each other so much and yet we just met yesternight", she didn't want to tell him the way she was feeling about everything. She just wanted to see his reaction when she confessed to him the way she was feeling about everything. To her surprise, he didn't act like the way she thought he would act. "I know we ain't love birds but will try to love you so that we can live peacefully. My dad made me promise him that I was going to take care of you since you will be my wife. Stop having doubts with the way am acting around you. I just want to love you and please let me do that to you since you deserve it", she couldn't believe what she was just hearing. She didn't think that the vampire prince had one good side. Since they met he has been so good to her and taking care of her. She didn't know if he was sincere or was trying to fool her. She couldn't believe that he was willingly treating her well since she was now his wife. She decided to pretend that she believed him even though deep down she had so many doubts in her mind. She couldn't trust him since he was just a stranger that he met the previous night. "Let's go and grab something before we rest", he informed her while standing up. He stretched out his hand towards her direction wanting her to hold his hand firmly. She held his hand in a tight grip then stood and followed him. On their way to the dining table they were holding their hands. They looked like the perfect couple and a wide grin appeared on his face. He was amazed by her and the way she was too beautiful. She was brought to an enormous hall which was the royal dining table. The table was made of wood, sealed and vanisted. The dining table and the chairs were black in colour. They had shiny sliver candelabras with long candles placed on the table. She headed towards the other end of the table, where the dishes and plates were placed. Her stomach was rumbling for a while and she was glad that finally she would consume something. She was amazed with what she was seeing. She couldn't believe that the food was only cooked for two people only. "Thank you", she mentioned hastily as he pulled a chair for her to sit on. Like usual he was acting so gentle while around her. She was already used to his actions. She wasn't so comfortable with how he was treating her since she didn't know what he was upto. "Eat", he stretched out his hand while holding a spoon towards her. Her eyes widened at what he just did to her. She couldn't believe that he went to the extent of feeding her. He was surprising her all the time they were together. She didn't know what he was upto next or what he was going to do. But then she was glad that he was treating her like his wife and gently. She opened her mouth allowing him to feed her. "Good...", He mentioned with a satisfied look after she ate the food he just fed her. For the next few minutes he didn't allow her to touch the food. He fed her all the time and didn't allow her to feed herself. He wanted to be the best husband she could ever have. Even though she wasn't of his kind, he vowed to take good care of her. "It's now your turn to eat", she mentioned after he was done feeding her. The maidens were awed with what they were seeing. They couldn't believe the prince was so romantic like that. They didn't think that he would ever feed her in that way infront of them. At first she was shy since, the maidens were staring at them. But after some time she stopped being shy and let her husband feed her. "I will just drink this", he mentioned pointing at a black cup that had some liquid in it. She had no idea what the liquid was. She was too eager to know what the drink was. So she stretched her hand towards the cup. He didn't stop her from taking the cup. She raised the cup and placed it near her mouth. She slightly opened her mouth and took a sip of the drink. "Its blood...", She mentioned as she placed the cup on the table. She couldn't believe that she was the one who had just drunk blood of a human. She didn't know whose blood it was but she couldn't stop to think of how the blood tasted like. "Yes it's blood remember am a vampire and that's our main food", he reminded her of how the blood is the staple food of vampires. She wondered where they had gotten the blood from since she was certain it was a human's blood. "Where did they get the blood from...?" She wanted to know more about them and their lifestyle. She just wanted to understand how they lived and their secrets too. That's why she asked that question since she wanted to understand them better. "The blood is normally bought from our human friends. We pay them well for their blood and that's why we can never stay without any blood in the palace", he stated informing her of the way they normally bought the blood. He was telling her the entire truth. They used to buy the blood from their human friends who lived in the northern side. "Wow so they sell it to you just like that what do you offer them instead", she asked. She was eager to know everything about the trade between the vampires and humans. She knew that vampires and humans were great enemies. She didn't understand how the humans from the north were friends with the vampires. "How did they become your friend. Since we know that vampires and humans are enemies", she knew that there was a story behind it. She knew that the humans couldn't willingly sell their blood just like that. "About two hundred years ago. There was a battle between us and them. Since we are stronger that the humans we were able to win the battle. So the king my dad requested them one thing that he knew we needed the most. He told them he just wanted them to be selling their blood to us in exchange of food especially fruits. Since we hardly eat food, thats what we use to get the blood from them. This has been happening for over two hundred years and everything is going on well", he informed her as he was drinking the blood. This was her first time to see him drinking blood. She couldn't believe that he was enjoying the blood as if it was something sweet. The blood tasted bitter to her and she immediately drunk water after sipping the blood. "Wow so they weren't willing to trade their blood first right...?" She asked with a raised brow. Even though she knew the answer to it. She wanted him to confirm it. "Yes they weren't willing at first since we told them to be selling their blood to us at first. But after a while there was a battle between us and them. After the battle ended they agreed to be selling their blood to us since it was better than taking them as slaves", Blake explained it to her. He didn't understand the reason as to why she wanted to know about their history and the reason why they bought blood from humans. "Ooh that's quite interesting atleast you get blood to drink", she mentioned with a slight grin on her face. She decided to stop asking him anymore questions since she had already asked alot of questions. "Let's go to the room and rest", he mentioned as he stood. He helped her get up from her chair and held her hand in a tight grip. She felt goosebumps cover her all body. It would be her first time to share a bed with a man. Even though he was already her husband. She couldn't figure herself sleeping next to him in night gown. She nodded and followed him to their room. She couldn't wait to fall asleep since she was already tired.
