I was trembling when the car finally parked in the basement parking lot of the building. I made the driver go around in circles in the area before finally letting him drive there. I told him that this would be more convenient since the car could get closer to the elevator.
My eyes were trained out of the window the whole time, looking for my mother. She tried to run after the car but we lost her.
"We're here ma'am." he told me when the car stopped in front of the elevator.
"Thank you." I uttered.
I was still shaking when I got out of the car.
