"Are you okay Ma'am?" one of the men, who looked like a medic, asked me. I weakly nodded my head. My whole body hurt, but it was nothing in comparison to how my heart painfully clenched inside my chest. They handed me a water bottle. I slowly took a sip. I immediately felt relief when it passed through my raw throat. I didn't know what to feel. I was still in a state of shock. They took my blood pressure while we were inside the helicopter. I sat still as they took all my vitals. I feel so exhausted. My tears seemed to dry up and I couldn't feel anything anymore. Both physically and emotionally.
