Energy Storm Incoming: Survive or Transcend

Chapter 4

The doctor's words were beyond John's expectations. When everyone saw the watch on the doctor's wrist, they all panicked.

The woman in the red dress murmured to herself: "Could it be that what I heard before was not an illusion?"

There was a tremor in her voice, and the boy with a backpack next to her turned to look at her:

"Did you hear the prompt to enter 'God's Trial'?" There was fear in the boy's eyes. This thing that was beyond the scope of scientific explanation made everyone's expression change drastically.

The doctor frowned and glanced at his watch, whose hands were still spinning. "It seems everyone has heard of 'God's Trial.'"

His tone was very certain. Except for the woman in the red dress and the boy with the backpack who was talking, the others looked at each other, but no one said anything to refute. It was obvious that what the doctor said was true. Before entering this mysterious space, everyone heard a mysterious prompt sound.

Lorna hugged her knees with her hands, feeling a bad premonition in her heart.

What happened tonight made her extremely nervous. She vaguely felt that what would happen next might overturn her future.

"Who is the first to enter this 'God's Trial Space' tonight?"

The doctor started asking questions. After he raised the issues of 'the mobile phone lost signal, and the watch lost control due to magnetic field interference', he quickly became the backbone of most people and easily took over the right to speak that John had tried so hard to obtain.

When he asked the question, no one questioned him. Even the burly man who had behaved defiantly before scratched his head and looked around.

The girl sitting on Lorna's left raised her hand timidly: "It should be me..."

The girl's voice was soft and thin. She looked to be about fifteen or sixteen years old. She had straight black hair and a childish look on her face. She looked like she was about to cry.

"When I came in, there was no one here," she said, tears rolling down her eyes, "and then she came in."

The girl pointed at the plump woman in a business suit, and the woman admitted reluctantly, "Yes, after I came in, it was John."

The doctor nodded: "Then it's me." Then came the young man with a bag, the short and fat middle-aged man, the big man, the woman in the red dress, and finally Lorna .

"Is there anything different here before you came in?" The doctor's question made everyone's eyes fall on the girl. The girl was stared at by everyone and she almost cried. Her nose tip was red and her eyelids were trembling.

"No, it's the same as now, there's no one."

There was thick fog all around. After she came in, she shouted for a long time but didn't see anyone. She was scared, so she found a place in the middle and sat down until people came in one after another.

From the girl's words, it can be heard that she is very timid. Due to her age, her character is a little cowardly. The doctor asked several questions but didn't get any useful information out of her.

What Lorna has learned so far is that everyone has been summoned by some mysterious force and entered the 'God's Trial Space', but they have no idea how to leave next.

But she guessed that since this place was called 'God's Trial Space', if the wording was taken literally, everyone might be put to a test.

Her eyelids kept twitching. She was the last one to arrive at this place, and the situation was the most unfavorable for her. Faced with an unfamiliar environment and nothing she knew about what was going to happen, the people who arrived earlier must have been hiding something.

The worst part was that she came during a dangerous period and had nothing with her before that.

I don’t know when I can leave here, and without food and water, it’s a big problem.

"I want to go home." The girl who came in first cried out loudly. Everyone's emotions were like a taut string because of the series of news. When she cried, many people's expressions changed. The doctor saw it and said loudly:

"No one knows what the situation is like right now, and sitting here is not a solution." He put his hands in his pockets: "I suggest that everyone act on their own, explore this place first, and find a way out as soon as possible."

But this place is very unfamiliar, the fog is thick, and the way everyone came here is quite strange. For safety reasons, the doctor recommends that two to three people form a group and go in four different directions to see what is hidden outside the fog, and also to find a way to leave this mysterious place.

John was a little unhappy after hearing this. He probably felt resentful because the doctor had taken away his previous "prestige" with just one word. He frowned and objected:

"Explore around? No one is sure if there is any danger here. Since everyone came in based on the prompt sound, why not wait and see if that mysterious voice will appear again?"

John's words also won the approval of some people. The short and fat middle-aged man looked back and forth between the doctor and John, as if trying to find someone he could rely on.

Everyone's ideas were divided into two camps. One camp, represented by the burly man, tended to follow the doctor's instructions; on the other side, the woman in the red skirt and others were more willing to listen to John's opinions, so they stayed where they were, waiting for the next instructions.

The woman in the red dress lifted her hair, her eyes flashed:

"In that case, why don't you go out and take a look while we wait for news here..."

As soon as she said this, the plump woman laughed out loud, with contempt in her eyes. Before she could say anything, the doctor said:

"Let me remind you first, there is no signal here, and we are disconnected from the outside world. Most importantly," he paused for a moment, pointing out a point that Lorna had been worried about before: "There is no food or water here, and since she came in until now," the doctor pointed at Lorna , "no new people have come in here. I personally think that this time, the 'Trial of God' should be just us. No one knows when the next order will come. You are trapped here, and you are responsible for the final result."

His words reminded everyone, and John was no longer convinced and dared not speak out again.

Although everyone is quite afraid of this space, there is currently no better way and they can only follow the doctor's instructions.

There are five men here in total. In the unfamiliar environment, the burly man's strong physique obviously becomes his huge advantage. When forming a team, many people expressed their willingness to be in the same team with him. The second is the logical and meticulous doctor, and then John who works in the municipal center.

As for the short and fat middle-aged man and the teenager with a backpack, they were excluded from the selection by several women because of their appearance and age.

After some discussion, the doctor and the plump woman in a professional suit were placed in the same team, the burly man and the woman in a red skirt, John chose the young man with a backpack, and the remaining middle-aged man, the girl who entered the space first, and Lorna were forced to form a group.

Judging from the strength of the teams, Lorna's team was undoubtedly the weakest. The middle-aged man looked at Lorna , then at the timid girl, and was somewhat dissatisfied, but after his protest was ineffective, he had to accept this arrangement.

The four teams walked in four different directions. It was obviously very difficult to take a step in such an unknown place. Everyone hesitated for a moment, and finally the doctor took the lead and led the plump woman towards the direction of the thick fog.

Lorna was also nervous, and followed the middle-aged man and the girl to the other side. When they entered the thick fog, the long-lost mysterious thought finally appeared in Lorna's mind again:
