"Ten, Nine, Eight..."
The rapid loss of blood caused Lorna's consciousness to begin to blur. She thought of her mother. Many forgotten scenes emerged in her mind one by one. The strange countdown continued: "Six, five..."
"Four…"
"Three…"
She moved her fingers, her mind was about to become distracted, her body lost consciousness, the sound of rain disappeared, and only the beating of her heart mixed with the countdown could be heard, "Two..."
She didn't want to die yet. She had just graduated and had finally found a job to make a living. She had just worked for one day.
She was lucky enough to survive the first day of trouble, and she didn't want to die quietly in this alley.
After the rain stops tomorrow, maybe someone passing by may not even take a second look at her body!
Do you want to enter God's trial? She used all her strength to move her lips. Rainwater rushed into her mouth, mixed with blood foam and flowed down her chin. The desire to survive overwhelmed the fear of death. "Yes..."
As soon as this thought appeared in her mind, the next second her fingers moved slightly, and what she grabbed was no longer the cold and wet stone road, but the smooth floor. She was no longer in the dark alley where she died. There seemed to be other people around her, and she heard heavy breathing!
"Welcome to God's Trial Space!"
Lorna took a breath, sat up suddenly and opened his eyes!
There were several people sitting or standing beside her, all turning to look at her with horror. There were no violent storms or dark alleys here, and the song she heard before her death no longer existed. She did not bother to take a close look at her surroundings and subconsciously reached out to touch her neck.
Just before she lost consciousness, a hole was stabbed in her throat. She still remembered the feeling of the dagger entering her body.
Lorna's face was pale. When her hand touched her throat, it was smooth and free of wounds. She was breathing smoothly.
The scene of her being killed was like a nightmare. She raised her arm and there was still blood on her left hand, proving that what happened before was not a result of her mental disorder.
"Where is this, what's going on?"
She muttered to herself, her body shaking, and the people around her looked at her with fear in their eyes.
All that happened was beyond Lorna's original understanding, but she guessed that it was related to the voice that appeared in her mind before.
Lorna tried to stay calm and stood up with her hands. Perhaps it was because she had just experienced a crisis, which made her instinctively wary of this unfamiliar environment.
She noticed that this place was a bit strange. It was surrounded by gray fog on all sides, leaving only about thirty square meters of open space. Apart from that, there was no decoration.
There were about seven or eight people around her, all standing far away from her and looking at her warily.
"Where is this place?"
It can be seen that everyone is a stranger and they all keep a distance from each other. There are men and women among these people, and they are of different ages.
A young woman in a red dress and high heels, with her arms crossed, brushed her hair and asked, "Who are you? How did you get here?"
Everyone looked at each other, and no one spoke at first regarding the stranger.
The woman's gaze swept across everyone in the open space, and finally fell on Lorna, who entered this space last.
Her appearance was the most frightening. She was wearing a wet dress, with dark brown bloodstains on her chest and sleeves. Her hair was messy, her face was as pale as a ghost, her lips were bloodless, and she looked destitute and disgusting, as if something big had just happened.
It can be seen that Lorna is not a person with a good background. When this woman's eyes fell on her, she was similar to the people around her, a little nervous, and with a little disgust and contempt.
"New here, who are you? What's your name and how did you get here?"
The woman looked at Lorna and asked several questions in a row. As soon as she opened her mouth, everyone stared at Lorna , waiting for her answer.
In fact, Lorna herself hadn't figured out her current situation yet. When the woman asked her questions, she didn't answer honestly. What happened tonight made her extremely alert, and the unfamiliar environment and people around her made her even more nervous.
She followed the others' example and found an open space a little away from the others, curled up her body, and someone was already impatient and asked in a harsh voice:
"Didn't you hear?"
The person who spoke was a sturdy man wearing a tight vest, revealing large tattoos on his arms. He looked a bit ferocious and clenched his fists while speaking. Everyone in this area seemed to be most wary of him and kept their distance from him.
Lorna was still breathing heavily. The feeling of being stabbed by the dagger had left her with severe sequelae. The feeling of being unable to breathe followed her like a shadow. Although the wound on her neck had strangely disappeared, she was still greatly affected. She raised her chin and stretched her neck when she breathed, making a loud sound:
"My name is Lorna . I don't know how I got here. It feels weird to me."
She did not mention the mysterious voice in her mind, nor did she mention the words "God's trial". When everyone heard her words, they seemed to have no doubts.
The woman who asked the question first just looked at the blood on her body, obviously curious about what had happened before she came in here.
Such a reaction proved that everyone who entered this space must have arrived suddenly. For some reason, everyone may have received a prompt to enter the "Trial of God" and entered this space inexplicably.
Judging from the clothes and attire of the crowd, some were wearing formal attire like the woman who asked the first question, while others were wearing business attire like a short and fat middle-aged man in the distance. Before coming to "God's Trial", everyone must have been doing different things at different times and places.
Lorna hasn't figured out why she was able to enter this trial, nor has she figured out what the purpose of this trial is. However, she is introverted and not someone who likes to be in the spotlight. After answering the woman's words, she closed her mouth and while listening to everyone, she was also quietly observing the people in the space.
She counted and found that there were nine people including herself. In addition to the woman asking questions and the fierce burly man, there was a short and fat man about forty years old. Next to him was a well-mannered man wearing glasses. On the other side were two young men and women with immature features. Sitting in the east corner was a woman wearing a professional suit and who was a little plump. About two meters away from her was a young male doctor in a white robe with his hands folded across his chest and a frown on his face.
"It seems that everyone came here by accident." The middle-aged man wearing glasses had a twinkle in his eyes and pushed his glasses up: "Although I don't understand why we are here, since we are here, we have to figure out where we are and why we are here."
He supported himself on the ground with his hands and stood up: "I suggest that in a place like this, we should sit together in a circle first, introduce ourselves to each other, and get to know each other better."
As soon as the man finished speaking, the fierce-looking man sneered:
"Who do you think you are? Why should everyone listen to you?"
