Lauren has been alive for fifteen years, during which she first bonded with her true love. Now they will reunite once more after many years of waiting. But what they don't know is that they will face many challenges together. One of those challenges will be Lauren's discovery that she possesses powerful witch magic. Her magic surpasses that of her grandfather and the numerous magical ancestors who came before her. She will also discover that there are other creatures in the world besides humans and witches. She will discover there are vampires and demons out there in the world as well. But none of that matters to either her or Matthew. All that matters to them is their love for each other. If they remain united and collaborate effectively, their love will triumph over all obstacles. Their love for each other will overcome all obstacles. More importantly, their love will also unite the races. This love extends to all races, including humans, demons, witches, and vampires. Oxford University, London, 2009 Lauren smiled as she began to explain to her cousin Margaret just how vast Oxford University is. "You know, Margaret, Oxford isn't just a single campus; it's made up of over 30 colleges, each with its own unique history and architecture. The university spans across a large area, filled with beautiful gardens, libraries, and museums. It's like a small city dedicated to learning!" She continued, "The libraries here are impressive too; the Bodleian Library is one of the oldest in Europe, and it holds millions of books. Can you imagine the amount of knowledge contained within those walls? And there are plenty of places to study, from cozy coffee shops to quiet courtyards." Lauren's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Plus, the atmosphere is incredible—students from all over the world come here to learn and share ideas. It's truly a melting pot of cultures and thoughts. I can't wait to explore the campus." Margaret nodded enthusiastically, her eyes lighting up as she listened to Lauren. "I entirely agree! The library sounds amazing, and I can only imagine how inspiring it must be to study in such a vibrant environment. The diversity of students really adds to the experience. I can't wait to explore with you!" After a moment, Lauren said, "Shall we go and get our room assignments?" Margaret then says, "We shall! Let's head to the administration office and see where we'll be staying. I'm excited to find out who our roommates will be." With that, the two cousins made their way across the bustling campus, eager to embark on this new adventure together. A few minutes later, they arrived at the admissions office. As they entered the admissions office, the warm atmosphere welcomed them. An admissions worker smiled brightly and approached them. "Welcome to Oxford! We're thrilled to have you both here," she said. "Are you ready to get your room assignments?" Lauren nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, we can't wait to find out where we'll be staying!" Margaret chimed in, "And we're excited to meet our roommates!" The admissions worker smiled even wider and said, "That's wonderful to hear! Could I please have your names before we begin? Lauren stepped forward and replied, "I'm Lauren Anderson." Margaret added, "And I'm Margaret O'Hera." "Great to meet you both!" the admissions worker said, jotting down their names. "May I have your birthday?" Lauren smiled and replied, "My birthday is December 18, 1993." Margaret then chimed in, "And mine is May 13, 1994." The admissions worker nodded, taking notes as she engaged with them further. The admissions worker led them to a desk where she pulled up their information. "Let's see what we have for you," she said, typing away on her computer. The anticipation in the air was palpable as Lauren and Margaret exchanged eager glances, ready to dive into this new chapter of their lives. "Congratulations to both of you! You have been assigned to the All Souls Dorm. Your dorm number is 4J, says the admission worker. As the admissions worker continued to type, she glanced up from her computer, a smile forming on her face. "It looks like you're both going to love it there," she said, her enthusiasm infectious. Lauren and Margaret were overcome with excitement as they imagined the adventures that awaited them in their new living space. "All Souls has a vibrant community," the admissions worker added, "and plenty of opportunities to meet new friends and get involved." With each word, their anticipation grew, and they began to envision their future filled with late-night study sessions, shared meals, and unforgettable memories. "Here's your class schedules," the admissions worker said, handing them a neatly organized packet. Lauren and Margaret exchanged glances, their hearts racing with anticipation. Each schedule was filled with intriguing courses that promised to ignite their passions and challenge their minds. "Look at this! We have Intro to Psychology together," Lauren exclaimed, her eyes bright with excitement. Margaret nodded, scanning her schedule. "And I have art history! I've always wanted to take that class." The admissions worker smiled, noticing their enthusiasm. "You'll find that Oxford offers a diverse range of subjects, so you can explore your interests and discover new ones along the way." As they reviewed their schedules, the girls felt a rush of possibilities. They could already picture themselves in lively classrooms, engaging discussions, and collaborative projects. The vibrant community they had heard about was beginning to materialize, and they eagerly anticipated embarking on this new phase of their lives. As they completed the final paperwork, Lauren turned to Margaret, whispering, "Can you believe we're finally here?" Margaret nodded, her eyes sparkling with excitement. They were ready to embrace everything that lay ahead. As Lauren and Margaret left the admissions office, a sense of exhilaration washed over them. Then an announcement came over the intercom, breaking the moment of their anticipation. As the intercom crackled to life, a stern voice echoed through the hallways, urging all students to report to their dorms immediately. Lauren turned to her cousin Margaret and asked, "Are you ready to head to their dorm?" Margaret nodded, adjusting her backpack as they prepared to leave the common area. The atmosphere was charged with a mix of excitement and apprehension as they made their way through the bustling corridors, eager to see what the evening would hold. As they walked for a couple of minutes, the sounds of laughter and chatter faded behind them. Just as they rounded a corner, Margaret suddenly bumped into someone. "Whoa, sorry!" she exclaimed, stepping back to get a better look at the person she had collided with. It was a tall old man with tousled hair and a serious look. The old man chuckled with an evil sound, adjusting his glasses as he looked down at Margaret. "It's quite alright, my dear," he said, his voice serious but firm. "Just be sure to watch where you're going next time," he said with a serious and mean tone. Then Lauren, speaking protectively for her cousin, says, "Hey, my cousin said she was sorry." She took responsibility for what happened. So my suggestion to you is, what should you have said to her? What you should have said is, "It's quite alright." Things happen. Just be a little bit more careful in the future. Using more careful wording would be a better choice. As she spoke, Lauren's frustration sparked a surge of energy within her. A burst of magic resonated from her body, causing the lights to flicker dramatically. The wind outside howled as if echoing her emotions, swirling around them with an intensity that matched her protective spirit. The atmosphere shifted, charged with an unsettling mix of power and urgency, making it clear that Lauren was not to be trifled with. The old man says with a neutral, wicked tone, "You're totally right. My apologies, Ms." Margaret then replied, "It's quite alright." After a moment, the old man added, "But I really must be going now." The old man tipped his hat slightly and, with a sly grin, turned to the young ladies in front of him. "Well, my dear ladies, I wish you all a good day. With that, he strode away, leaving an air of intrigue behind him. Both Lauren and Margaret exchanged nervous glances. "Thank you," they said in unison, their voices tinged with a hint of uncertainty. "That was awkward, don't you agree, Lauren?" Margaret said this while breaking the silence that lingered after the old man's departure. Lauren nodded, her brow furrowing slightly. "Yeah, it was. I wasn't expecting that," she replied, glancing back in the direction the old man had gone. The moment hung in the air, filled with unspoken thoughts and a shared sense of bewilderment. "Shall we continue to our dorms?" Lauren suggested to Margaret, her voice breaking the tension that had settled between them. Margaret nodded, still processing the encounter. "Yeah, let's go," she replied, her tone a mix of relief and curiosity. As they turned to leave, the weight of the awkward moment lingered in their minds, but the familiarity of their dorms offered a comforting escape from the unsettling experience. They walked side by side, the quietness of the hallway contrasting with the chaos of their thoughts. Each step felt lighter as they approached the door to their shared sanctuary, ready to leave the day's confusion behind. Meanwhile, on the other side of the university, Peter Knox stood alone in a dimly lit room, the weight of his words hanging heavily in the air. "So you lied to me, Raymond Anderson," he said aloud, his voice echoing off the walls. The silence that followed was deafening, filled only with the unspoken secrets that lingered. "You kept your granddaughter's magic a secret from me. But I promise you. You will pay for it with your life, and I will have your granddaughter's magic. No matter what." Peter's heart raced, grappling with the betrayal and the implications it held for their future. Back in Sharonville, Ohio, Raymond sensed his granddaughter Lauren's magic stirring within her. It was a force he had tried to protect, but now it felt vulnerable, exposed to the dangers Peter posed. He knew he had to act quickly to safeguard her, to keep her magic from falling into the wrong hands. The weight of his past decisions pressed heavily on him as he prepared to confront the threats looming over his family. Back at Oxford University, a certain vampire sensed Lauren's burst of magic resonating across vast distances. It was a powerful, vibrant energy, one that stirred old memories and instincts within him. He could feel the urgency in its pulse, a call for protection that he had not anticipated.
