733 Words
One week later.... Ana P.O.V. It had been a week since we left Rose Hills, and came to this town, Luna Bay. This town started to grow on us. Everything was going nice. We set up our new house. Ben got into his new school, The West High. I got a job as a waitress at, The Dining Table ---- The same restaurant that we went to, the other night. I even made a friend there. His name was Scott, his family owned the restaurant. He was a nice guy. He was the reason that I got this job. The weather in Luna Bay is quite good. Nights are slightly chilly as compared to days. Ben and I haven't got the time to explore the town but Scott promised us that this coming Sunday he will be our tour guide. "Ben hurry up, I am getting late for the restaurant," I yelled from the truck. After a few minutes, Ben showed up with a frowned face. "Now, what?" I asked. "I said so many times that you don't have to drop me at my school. I can go by myself. School is not that far from here." Ben replied while taking the passenger side. "I know but I want to spend more time with my brother," I said after pinching his left cheek. He gave me an angry look that made me laugh. After dropping him off at the school, I went to work. "Good morning sunshine," Scott said as soon as I opened the door. I didn't reply and directly went behind the counter to grab my apron. Scott came near the counter while I was trying to put on the apron. Scott sensed my mood and calmly asked, "Hey, what happened? Is everything alright?" "Nothing," I replied plainly while still trying to put on the apron. Scott saw this and took the apron from my hand and kept it aside. I gave him a death stare and went to the back of the restaurant where we put our garbage bags, as I didn't want to throw my anger at him. He followed me. "Scott, please.." I begged him. "No, something must have happened. Did you fight with your brother again?" Scott asked while holding my hand. He was worried. I sighed and took a deep breath. "No, it's not my brother. I bumped into a jerk. That bastard ruined my day." I said the last statement with so much detest that it made Scott flinch a little bit. When I realized that I apologise to him. "It's ok. But you need to calm down first." Scott said trying to comfort me. "Now tell me everything from start," Scott added. I began telling him about that jerk. "After dropping off Ben at school, I was on my way to here. But one of the tyres got punctured, so I get out to change it. Then this jerk out of nowhere slammed the back of my truck with his fancy car...." Scott didn't let me finish my story and asked if I was ok or not. "I am fine Scott but my truck isn't.......and you know instead of being apologetic he threw money at me for my loss," I added. "What a jerk!" Scott exclaimed. "And what happened then? .... Do you know his name or remembered his car number?" Scott laid three questions in a single breath. "I didn't take the money, I am a proud woman but I did break his car windshield," I said proudly. "What???" Scott said loudly. "Oh my God! What happened then did he do something to you?" Scott asked with concern. "Relax, he didn't do anything but I gave him good teaching that he was going to remember till his last breath...huh" I replied with more pride. But trust me telling Scott everything changed my mood in a good way. I wanted to teach that jerk more but he got a call and leave from there immediately after giving me a death stare. I informed Scott that I didn't know his name or remember his car number. I promised Scott that if I met him again I will inform him and then we both will kick his ass. After that, we talked more and then went back to work. Talking to him put me in a good mood. It's good to have a friend.
