Remi just nodded in agreement then his eyes went from their beautiful blue color to a deep inky black and he stood motionless for a long moment before snapping back to normal before he informed her, “you will need to put on a jacket and a pair of more sturdy shoes, Angelique will help you to your room and when you are finished she will bring you to me and we will go down first to the basement and after outside to the tree.” Almost immediately after he spoke the door opened and the same woman who had brought food to her peeked through the door and opened the door then came in further, bowed at Remi then faced Isla and said, “if you are ready mademoiselle, I will lead the way.”
Isla nodded at Remi and began to walk out with her notes clutched in her hands until Remi interrupted her progress
