"Don't you dare try make up an excuse. I gave you one job and you couldn't even do it. I should have known you aren't capable of doing something as simple as clean a room. worthless, useless little girl, " she said with a growl in her voice. "I'm sorry, Luna Rennie," I said with my head low. Goddess, I knew it was stupid of me to run, but I didn't want to face Lucas. "Mother," a low growl from behind Luna. Luna and I both jumped. Lucas. oh crap. "Oh honey. I was just telling Willow how disappointed I am that she never cleaned your room." she has a sickly sweet smile on her face. It made me want to puke. He looked over his mothers shoulder to me. "Will could I speak to you in private, please? I looked at the Luna, almost begging her with my eyes not to let me go. "Go, Willow. Now!" She demanded. I sighed. of course, she wouldn't let me stay. This can't end well. I followed Lucas up to his room. I stopped at the doorway to his room. My head was down. Not daring to look up at him. "I've asked her so many times to stop getting you to do so much work," He said with a sigh. My head shot up. He asked her that? "It truly isn't fair what they make you do or how you are treated by everyone. I know I'm not one to talk, but I do regret ever treating you like that little luna." My eyes almost popped out of my head. Little luna? "But I know what I must do. You don't want this. I know you wouldn't want this. So I will save you the trouble and do it myself." He says with a defeated look in his eyes.

"I Lucas Linson reject you, Willommhmdksa." I jumped up and covered his mouth. Muffles came out as he tried to continue. "No, please don't reject me. I promise I'll prove that I am a worthy mate and luna. just please don't reject me yet." I could feel the tears that threatened to spill now pour down my face. I couldn't hold it back. I don't want to be alone anymore. I don't want my mate to reject me before I prove myself worthy.

He looked at me, surprised. "I.. I thought you would not have wanted me as your mate." He said with hope in his eyes. "Everything I've done to you. The way I've treated you."

I look down and play with my fingers. "I um I want a chance. The moon goddess picked us to be mated. I don't know why, but um, I want to prove worthy of you." I said while sniffling. Tears are still pouring but slower now. He whipped a tear away and placed his hand on my cheek, making me look at him. He was smiling sadly. "You have nothing to prove, little luna. You are worthy. Worthy of everything and more. I am the one not worthy. I am the one who has to prove worthy to you. Prove I'm worthy of your love." I looked into his brown eyes. For the first time, I don't hate him. For the first time, I'm feeling wanted. I'm feeling loved.

"Oh, I have something for you," He says with excitement in his voice. I look at him confused. He walks over to his bed and pulls out a stack of gifts from under the bed. I look at him shocked. "Happy birthday, princess," He says while placing the gifts on the bed. I don't move. what is happening? I've never gotten a gift before. He tapped th spot beside him on the bed. I slowly walked over. I'm not sure if this was a joke. "I went out earlier after I realised you were my mate and bought you some birthday gifts." He stated, all proud of himself. I smiled a little. "All of these are for me?" I asked softly. He nodded happily.

He hands me one. I slowly open it. Inside is a brand new phone. I look up in shock. "Well, I need a way to stay in contact with my mate while you're at school." I chuckle softly. I look up at him. "Why?" I asked quietly. "Why, what princess?"

"Why are you being so nice to me? why did you accept me as your mate?" I asked. desperate for an answer. "You really want to know?" I nodded. I want to know. "Well, because I love you, Willow. I have, for a long time now. Long before today. Before I knew you were my mate. I love you, Willow.
