Chapter 9
::Is everyone in place?:: Duff asked.
It was a week after Ephram had decided to join our little group of thieves and this would be his first test. We had closed our gallery early. Not a hardship since it was mid-week and business was slow. Now we were going after the de Rege sculpture.
Ephram had done as we planned, going into the gallery on Magazine Street as a ‘tourist’ just before it closed. His job was to make certain the motion sensors covering the de Rege were realigned away from it. He came out, giving me a thumb’s up before strolling down the street to the cut-through that would take him to the back of the building. I joined him and moments later replied to Duff’s question that we were indeed in place.
From there, it was business as usual-plus one. Ephram and I misted
