I didn’t move. The door was now just a few inches away from my face. For some reason my eyes were fixed to the little silver nameplate pinned to the top. The one I walked past at least thrice everyday. I read the words I already knew were written there.
Mr. Nathan Ryder. Executive
Something in my stomach did a little flip. I turned away, willing my legs to the CEO’s office, still unsure of what exactly my plan was.
Nathan Ryder. Billionaire heir. National heartthrob… And my boyfriend. I sighed to myself as I walked passed several rows of adjoining offices. My boyfriend who dumped his problems on my shoulders while he guiltlessly frolicked around in God knows where with God knows who.
I reached the pair of elevators standing sided by side and pressed on the button to the right. Immediately, its doors opened, and its emptiness made me a little relieved not having to engage in any unnecessary small talk. The moment the doors chimed shut, my phone beeped from a notification.
CHASE Acct •••• 4827 Incoming payment: +$4,000,000.00. From: NathanRyder Memo: For that red dress you’ve been talking about.
The limited edition dress from a designer whose name hurt my tongue whenever I tried to pronounce it. That dress was only a million dollars. And it was white not red.
Typical Nathan.
I swiftly texted him a ‘Thank you babe! You’re the best,’ inserting 3 kissing emojis for emphasis. Then I switched off the phone and slid it into my pocket just as the elevator opened again.
The office of the CEO was the only office on the penthouse floor, and it took up the entire space. I walked into the entrance where his secretary was stationed and there he was, laptop in hand, explaining something to her with the look of someone who had lost all patience.
She soon noticed my presence and lit up like I was the best thing to ever happen. “Good day ma’am.” She cheered, prompting Mr. Ryder, whose back was turned to me, to turn around.
“Serena.” He said with his usual professional smile. “How are you?” I smiled in return. “I’m fine, thank you sir. But I do have an urgent private matter I would like to discuss with you.” I laid special emphasis on the word ‘private’. “Of course.” He replied almost immediately, gesturing for me to come closer. “Besides, I’m sure Lucy here has a lot of errors to correct.” He added without as much as a glance at her. She nodded frantically in agreement although I’m pretty sure she was just happy to be off the hook. Lucy was the new temp that Mary brought as her substitute before she went on maternity leave. She was as cute as she was clueless.
I followed Mr. Ryder into his office, winking at Lucy as I passed, I knew she needed the boost. He held the door open for me as he entered and closed it shut behind us. Then, out of nowhere, he grabbed me by the shoulders and pushed me to the same door, pinning me against the solid wood so firmly that I couldn’t shift an inch.
“I…” my mouth made to speak, but then I felt his lips on my collarbone, so warm and moist, and a low gasp came out instead. He trailed his tongue slowly up my neck, sucking each portion like there was candy hidden underneath. The way his body pressed me tighter and his hands roamed from my thighs to my hips before finally gripping my ass had my breath hitching nonstop. Once his tongue reached my ears, he played with the edges, licking every ridge and crease. Then he whispered,
“I knew you couldn’t resist.”
