I got a hot damp cloth that had been covered with salt and cleaned all of Axel's wounds, he was hurt badly, and I've been here trying to clean the blood from him for three hours. He's been passed out since we got back.
I didn't ask any questions about anything until I knew when the right time was.
Nox hadn't come back yet, and I was getting worried something serious had happened.
Nox came crashing in through the door, also covered in blood. He and Axton exchanged looks and Nox shook his head and ran upstairs to the shower. I was getting pissed off with them hiding secrets, but I knew now wasn't the time.
I placed a cold, damp towel across Axel's forehead and sat next to him, holding his hand. He was sweating profusely.
Alex was sat down on one of the sofas, tapping his leg on the ground, biting his nails, seemingly impatient.
Nox came back down ten minutes later.
A big awkward silence filled the room, there was so much tension, had been for hours.
"What happened?" I asked them all. They all just looked at me. Nox walked over to where Axton was stood, sitting on the pool table. Alex turned and faced me.
"Not now, AJ!" He raised his voice. Nox and Axton looked back at him and Alex turned back facing the wall in a huff.
"He fell down into the river bank when Alex and I were fighting." Axton told me. Alex turned back to face me, a weird look on his face.
"How?" I asked them again.
"We were fighting and we got too close to him. He moved out the way but slipped and fell hitting every rock and branch as he fell down." Axton told me, while Alex nodded his head. Nox was just looking around the room, avoiding eye contact.
"Why are you lying?" I asked Axton as I stood up and walked towards him.
"I'm not lying, it's the truth." He replied defensively.
"Nox? Is it true?" I asked. Surely Nox wouldn't lie to me.
"It's the truth." Nox replied as he looked everywhere else but towards me. I walked over to Nox and grabbed his head to place his eyes level with mine,
"Is it true?" I asked him once more as he couldn't avoid eye contact.
"No." I heard Nox's voice in my head as I saw that he didn't move his lips.
Nox didn't say a word. I moved away and sat back down with Axel. I was slightly confused, but I must have imagined it.
"You guys don't have to keep lying to me. Whatever it is you can tell me." I told them reassuringly.
"We aren't lying AJ." Alex told me, in the nicest way possible, which was so out of character for him.
"Right, well I don't f*****g believe any of you, the fact that you can sit there and clearly lie to my face. Look at him, he doesn't look like he fell into the river bank. He's got cuts and gashes all over him. And it doesn't explain why Nox turned back around when I saw all four of you, and why he came back covered in blood. How the f**k did you know they needed you anyway? You bolted out of this house as if you were called, sired! Stop lying to me, you've been hiding things all my life, and I want to know why! Look at Axel! LOOK AT HIM! he's harmless, and look at him! I want to know what the f**k is going on right now, or I swear to god I will wreak havoc on where we stand!" I screamed at them from the top of my lungs. They all backed away from me, slowly. Scared looks on their faces.
"How did you do that? " Alex asked me.
"Do what?" I asked him impatiently.
"Your eyes went all white." Nox said, walking closer towards me.
"What?"
"Your eyes went like a clear white colour, as if you had no pupils." Axton said.
"Oh, shut up and tell me what the f**k happened to my brother!" I shouted once again. I thought it was some ploy to change the subject.
Nox grabbed me by the hand and looked directly into my eyes, as if he was searching for something. I pushed him away from me and sat back down with Axel.
