7. Chapter One

Mallory put her soft leather boots, which were in a plastic bag, into her backpack. The disc was already in there and she glanced around her bedroom, trying to think of anything else she might need. She wore jeans, a t-shirt, a long sleeve shirt over her t-shirt and she’d tucked her woollen socks inside her boots. She’d had lunch a bit over an hour ago and tied her brown hair, which was naturally streaked with copper highlights, back into a plait. She wasn’t about to have it tangled and knotted like last time. Her gaze stopped on the notebook she’d bought while they’d been out earlier. After they’d talked to Dorset, Richelle and Jed.
