Before the programme...

Sunday — 4:17 PM DASH. I entered the kitchen. I wanted to make jollof rice and swallow. 😂 Lol. I know. Crazy, right? But at that point, I was starting to feel more like the house maid than the daughter of the house. 😭 Dad said he wanted to eat swallow. Mom said she wasn't eating that. So guess who had to cook? ME. In less than one hour, I swear I was DONE. I know that's ridiculously fast. But I'm a tomboy, and I'm definitely NOT a fan of the kitchen. So, in order to finish my mission before my soul left my body, I used TWO electric cookers at once. Efficiency. Survival. Call it whatever you want. 😂 I served them their food and finally escaped into my world. Yeah... My room. ❤️ The only place where I could breathe a different kind of air. An air free from: “Lila!” “Lila, you're so lazy!” “I'm disappointed in you.” Basically, the sound effects of my childhood. I had barely settled down when... BEEP! My notification bell made me grab my phone immediately. It was my boyfriend. My love. How are you doing? I smiled immediately. Fine and you??? Because honestly, whether I was fine or not, what difference would it make if I said I was fine? So... WHAT WAS THE POINT? So sad. Before I could enjoy my peaceful little moment— “CHEF LILA!” I froze. Sir?! I ran out of my room. More food? GOSH. My brother was literally right there in the parlour, but somehow my dad's eyes completely ignored him and went straight toward MY ROOM. How convenient. 😭 I dropped the food on the table. And then..... “Why is the food not sweet?” She said it while mocking me in front of the whole family. Whole family? Okay, let's calm down. We're only five people. And before anybody starts judging me.. THE FOOD WAS SWEET. At least when I tasted it. Okay, maybe I'm biased. But I swear it was good! I'm just a girl doing her best in the kitchen, okay?! Then my phone rang from my room. IT WAS HIM AGAIN. I immediately picked up. “Hey, how are you?” Of course, we weren't saying anything overly romantic. We mostly just wanted to make sure the other person was actually there just in case it was our parents that picked the call.. “I'm good.” “You?” “Fine.” And somehow... That call lasted thirty minutes. Yep. That's basically my love life. No dramatic speeches. No movie scenes. Just: “You good?” “Yeah.” “You?” “Fine.” 30 MINUTES LATER “Okay, bye.” 😭😂 Anyway... There was one tiny problem. I hadn't prepared the clothes I was going to wear. And we were leaving THE NEXT DAY. Yeah. For the programme. So much for being a big girl. Apparently, big girls still forget to pack their clothes until the night before. Sunday — 9:17 PM Somehow... the day had ended. It was already 9:17 PM. I opened my bag. “This one?” Nope. I pushed it aside. “Not this one either.” I dug through the clothes again. “Maybe this one...” My brothers were already asleep, and my parents were in their room. Well... Not exactly peacefully in their room. I could hear them quarrelling. Again. I just sighed. I was already used to it. Then I heard Mom say something that made me pause. “Hey, that's why you have a daughter!” Dad responded, and the argument continued. Mom's voice rose again. “I gave you a firstborn, so you don't have to keep worrying me to cook for you! I didn't marry you to become some kind of slave!” I just shook my head. Yep. Another episode of The Parents' Argument Show. No tickets required. Unfortunately, I had front-row seats. I turned back to my clothes. “Perfect.” I finally selected two outfits. I stared at them. Then at my jewelry. “Should I take my jewelry?” No. I immediately answered myself. With everything I was going through right now... I didn't exactly feel like entering my beauty phase. Not right now. For real, Diary... I was going through a lot. I needed money. Legit money. I wished my home could just be peaceful. I wished I could stop embarrassing myself at school. And honestly? I wished my friends would believe that I don't have accounts... Especially because... I actually knew how to hack people's accounts. Yeah. I know. Don't ask. I wasn't exactly the innocent little angel people thought I was. 😭 I was kind of a baddie. Buhh... My bestie? She was the REAL one. And trust me... That girl had enough stories to expose me for the next ten years. 😂 I zipped my bag. Tomorrow was the programme. And somehow... I had a feeling it wasn't going to be an ordinary day..... And it wasn't ordinary...
