My instincts continued to warn me, whispering that I had made a grave mistake in abducting the Lunar Queen and destroying her entire coven. Each day, I paced into the dark, musty library where I had imprisoned her, hoping she’d reveal the truth. But Luna Gladys remained silent. Starved, weakened, and disheveled as she was, nothing would break her resolve, no matter how many times I came here or what I demanded.
“This woman commands thousands of followers,” Griselda said beside me as we approached the room where Luna Gladys was kept. Her voice held a tone of admiration laced with irritation. “And there is one peculiar thing about women.”
“What is that?” I asked, barely disguising the impatience biting at my words.
