The last words I uttered to Aurelia in the carriage brought a smile to my face every time it crossed my mind. The words had jabbed her at the sides, her eyes widening with shock as her cheeks turned red with embarrassment.
I sensed that she had been tempted to ask me what I meant, and I was grateful that she didn't, because I didn't have an answer. I was even confused that I had made the statement at first, the words seemed to have rolled out of my tongue on their own will.
The moon goddess had done her irrevocable will of joining two people people who are disinterested in each other. But I won't be bending, I choose not to be coerced. I would rather remain a bachelor for the remaining years of my life.
