Dante's POV The nun's shrine was a medium-sized room with walls painted in a deep crimson. The instant I stepped inside, I was assaulted by the revolting smell of sandalwood incense. The left side of the room was lined with candlesticks, each bearing a red candle. A huge statue of the moon goddess stood in the center of the room, decorated with crepe myrtle flowers. Statues of the sun, moon, and stars dangled from the ceiling, along with tarot cards swaying gently in the stuffy air. The old woman—white-haired and skinny—sat in the center of the room, her eyes tightly shut as she prayed and chanted in an incomprehensible language.
