Jaxon just stares at me with his eyebrow arched and a quirky smile.” Before he could say anything, I continued saying “I know I sound like a broken record, but I don’t want you to think that you are obligated to go with me. These girls can be a bit much on their own, but you are getting them all in one place.”

Jaxon looks like he is analyzing everything I am saying. “Elena, I understand our situation is unconventional. I have a couple of friends that can be a bit intense as well. If you’re worried that they will scare me away, they won’t. Just have some faith and like you said let’s take this thing day by day. I know I am.” He grabs me by the waist, and I am locked in close to him, my hands on his strong chest feeling every muscle and his lips dangerously close to mine. He kisses me softly and oh so sweetly.

I feel myself calm down almost instantly. He has this power over me, that I can’t explain. He holds me with his strong arms, feeling safe in his embrace.

“Ahem.” “Excuse me Sir, will you be taking Ms. Elenas vehicle or one of yours?” Vincent asks politely, but you can’t miss the full blown smile he has on his face as his eyes linger on me and then back to Jaxon.

“We will take one of mine, please take Elenas car and park it in the garage” Jaxon says as he tosses my keys to Vincent.

“Come on Beautiful, let’s get going.” Jaxon looks at me, grabs my hand and leads me down the hall to the elevator. seriously an elevator I think to myself. He hits the “G” button on the elevator panel, and we go down a floor or two I think.

We get to what I can only assume is his garage. When the elevator door opens, I stand there gawking at all these cars. I don’t understand why one human being needs so many damn cars! He has 2 rows of cars along each wall. I am so out of my depth here.

Jaxon tugs on my hand which gets me out of my stupor. “What car should we take,” He sweetly asks me. I opened and shut my mouth a few times like a guppy. I just stared at him not knowing what to say. God he probably thinks I am such a mental case.

“Will we be helping bring some of her boxes back to your place or will she have movers doing that?” he questions.

“I’m not too sure we haven’t really discussed it, but I am going to assume movers.” I reply.

“Well then we will take my SUV that way we can take some boxes if we need to.” He takes my hand and leads me to the SUV. I must have passed 10 cars in each row… What the actual Fuck... This man must have a car fetish.

We get in the SUV and put Dawns address in the GPS and finally get on the road.

I look out the window deep in thought. What have I gotten myself into? I am a simple girl who only needs 1 car, has less than $1000 in her savings. I have nothing to bring to the table in this.. this.. fuck.. whatever this is.. I don’t have a chance in hell surviving in Jaxon’s highfalutin world. Who am I kidding, we are just too different.

I get brought back to the present once the car stops and Jaxon takes my hand in his. “Hey, where have you been the whole ride,” he asks with concern written all over his face.

I thought for a minute if I wanted to withhold these thoughts or be honest? And I realize that honesty is best. “I…I was thinking that maybe this all was a mistake. I am just a middle class, average girl, and you are.. Well… You… You have a lifestyle that you are accustomed to, and I am not sure where I would fit in.” I tell him while I play with the he, of my shirt.

“We are taking this one day at a time remember. I enjoy your company, Elena. I want to get to know you better and spend time with you. I don’t agree that you are just an average woman, you’re spectacular! Let’s just get to know each other and see where this all goes. I know my social circle is a bit intimidating, but it’s not about all of that it’s about us…

Knock… Knock… Knock… We get startled by a very excited and enthusiastic Dawn. We smile at her, and I feel like I just got caught with my hand in the cookie jar.

“We will finish this later baby girl” Jaxon whispers as he pecks me lightly on my lips. I blush like a teenage girl being kissed by her crush for the first time.

“Awwwwww, how cute..” Dawn gushes as she holds her hand to her heart.

“Oh, dear lord... and it starts. Get ready for crazy Jaxon!” I sigh.

We get out of the SUV, give Dawn a big Hug. “How is my Ezra baby, I can’t wait to give him a kiss.”

“He’s inside waiting for his Tia Elena,” as Dawn pushes me inside the house.

Once I get through the door, I turn to find Dawn already excitedly introducing herself to Jaxon and I can’t help but chuckle.

Jaxon has a huge smile plastered on his face as Dawn has her phone out and proceeds to take a selfie with Jaxon. Oh boy this is going to be a long night, I think to myself.

I walk up to Jaxon and shake my head at Dawn, “Dawn this is My Boss Jaxon Hart, Jaxon This is Dawn one of my Besties”.

“Nice to meet you Dawn”. He puts his hand out, but she bypasses his hand and goes in for a big Hug!

I hear her whisper “Thank you for getting her out of her shell, but if you hurt her like that fucker Luke did, I will hunt you down and remove your favorite appendage, Got it.” she said in her sweetest softest voice into his ear while she was hugging him.

“By the way, thank you for the picture, now I have a new profile pic for all my social media,” Dawn casually says as she walks away to grab Ezra in the playpen.

Jaxon looks at me still smiling “I like her, but she is very scary. What does she do for a living?”

“She’s a doctor at CHOC hospital” I reply smugly
