We got into Dr. Aldrich’s office. I slammed the door shut behind us, speaking before heading to my desk. “Do you think they bought that story about our innocence? It feels like they are determined to find out what exactly is going on between us.” He looked at me. Nothing on his face denoted that I had anything to worry about. But the mere fact that the issue had now reached the board, I could not help but worry. “They have nothing tangible. All these are just pictures that mean nothing and some speculations that they can never use against us,” he said with his deep, cold, and assuring voice. I knew that.
