"With all due respect, board members and my seniors," Dr. Aldrich started before I could speak. He motioned to the pictures, giving them time to pick up what they deemed wrong. All eyes turned to him as he continued calmly. "I do not see what needs to be explained here. Those are nothing but harmless photos."
"Why would a senior doctor go shopping with a female intern and, worse, share a room with her?" asked Chief Rooney. He did not look like he would be forgiving this time around. Even as he questioned Dr. Aldrich, he never failed to throw me a glance.
"And what is wrong with going shopping with a female intern? Are we doing something suspicious in the pictures?"
