15: Around the Campfire WEEKS PASSED, DUCK AND BARRY MOVED into the barracks when a couple of the beds became available. It was a welcome change for Emily not to have to share her personal space along with all the rest of what was going on around her. Her life’s calling required her to be available to others all the time. Though she didn’t mind sharing her space, a little me-time and space were a necessity, rather than a luxury, to keep her going. At any rate, the lads had decided that it would also do them a world of good to be with familiar company and environment. Living in the barracks took them back to a time when they were new recruits and their only business was to follow barked commands. Here, too, sets of rules were required to be followed, essentially to keep law and order. O
