I looked at grandpa then quickly at Zeeshan. We both stared at each other in complete shock and surprise.
“Grandpa! What is this?” We both asked on the same time in slowly whisper.
“Your engagement!” Grandpa said with a grin.
Grandma came to us with rings in her hands. I didn't want to do this but I didn't have a heart to ruin their happiness.
My hands were trembling and I was feeling nervous. I wanted to deny but the words were stuck in my throat. I looked at my parents but after seeing them happy made me shut my mouth.
Grandpa gave one ring to Zeeshan which he took. I looked at him as he slowly put the ring in my finger. Everyone clapped and cheered for us.
Grandma handed me other ring and I put ring in his finger quickly with my trembling hands. I was confused because my life took a sudden turn.
I looked around at everyone with forced and fake smile as they congrats us. My eyes met with Mahira who was glaring at me with tearful eyes and so much hate in her eyes.
She turned around and rushed out of the hall. I successfully moved away from Zeeshan with an excuse and ran behind Mahira.
“Mahira! Please listen to me!” I said and stopped her.
She jerked her arm away from me and looked at me with betray in her eyes.
“Why? Why do I listen to you? How could you do this to me?” She cried loudly and moved back from me.
“This is why you said me to forget him. Because you also want him. Congrats sister you are successful in stealing him from me. Admit it you win,” She yelled and wiped her tears.
“You are nothing but a backstabber. How can you betray your own blood?” She looked at me in disgust.
“Please. Listen to me once,” I whispered softly and felt my heart heavy.
“Stay away from me from now on. You are not my sister anymore. Not my sister. I hate you,” She said and ran back inside the hall.
I stood still with my mouth opened and in disbelief. My own sister hated me and called me a backstabber.
I tried to breath but I felt my world spinning. I put my hands on my head and gasped for air.
“Angel! Are you OK? You rushed out here?” Hasan asked, suddenly, appearing in front of me.
“Yeah! I just needed air. It is too much for me to handle, too much,” I whispered closing my eyes.
He span me around and hugged me. I was not in my right and I hugged him back which I knew was not good because I was now going to be someone’s.
I badly needed a hug which he gave me. He kissed on my head and grabbed my face. He wiped my tears and gave me a small and sad smile.
“Everything will be OK,” He said, sadly.
I nodded my head slowly and hoped better for everything. He grabbed my hand and pulled me with him, inside the hall.
I looked around when i felt someone’s presence there but chose to ignore it. When we entered in the hall, Hasan faced me with a smirk.
“A dance with me,” He said and pulled me on the dance floor.
Literally, everyone was dancing around us. He put his hand on my waist and slowly danced with me. He had a smile on his face but it was a sad and a fake real smile.
“Are you not happy? Why do you have this sad smile on your face?” I asked, softly.
“Angel!” He whispered, slowly and closed his eyes, “I am sorry!” He said and stepped back.
Before I asked him the reason, he left me alone on the dance floor. I exhaled slowly and turned around only to find Zeeshan coming towards me.
He put his hands on my waist and pulled me near him. He started moving and dancing slowly but his eyes never leaving mine.
“Back off!” He said gritting his teeth.
“Huh?” I looked at him in confusion.
His eyes held nothing but pure hate for me. His cold eyes and cold face was making my heart beat fast.
“Reject for the wedding or you will be regretting marrying me,” He said squeezing my waist with pressure.
“Ah!” I cried and closed my eyes to stop my tears.
My waist was paining because of his painful touch. He was slowly increasing the pressure.
“Please! Stop it! It is hurting!” I pleaded, painfully.
“Glad to know!” He said with please and stopped squeezing it.
I looked at him with wide eyes because he was not the Zeeshan which I knew. The Zeeshan which I knew never hurt anyone but the person who stood next to me was a devil who had evil smirk on his face.
“Back off before it gets too late!” He said and moved away, disappearing in the crowd.

I knocked on the door of Mahira’s room but she was not opening it.
“Please! Open the door! Mahira! I know you are inside. Please hear me for once,” I knocked on her door and said loudly.
Mom and dad were not at home. They went to tayaabu house to talk about my wedding. I started hating my life because it became more and more complicated for me.
The door was jerked opened and Mahira stood in front of me with her eyes narrowing at me.
“You have two minutes. Say whatever you want to say,” She said looking away from me.
Her eyes were eyes and her face was tears stained. I knew she was crying since last night all because of me.
“I didn't even know they all are going to engage me with Zeeshan. I swear to God, I have no feelings for Zeeshan. Also, I don't want to marry him either. Please believe me. I didn't betray you nor I backstabbed you,” I said and tried to explain her, all in my one breath.
She looked at me and sighed.
“If you want me to believe you,” She paused, “Then you have to say no to marry Zeeshan. Can you do it?” She asked glaring at me.
I blinked at her and nodded my head without thinking about it because Zeeshan also wanted me to reject him.
“I will do it for you!” I said and wiped my tears which flowed without my acknowledge.
I was ready to reject him for Mahira’s sake and for my own sake because this wedding was not going to work.

I knocked on the door of dad's room. I was going to tell him that I didn't want to marry Zeeshan.
“Come in!” Dad said from the other side of the door.
I entered the room and looked at him. He was looking pale but smiled looking at me and patted beside him. I was feeling guilty because I was going to ruin everything.
“How is my daughter?” He asked as I sat beside him on the bed.
“I am fine, dad. How are you?” I asked with a frown.
“I am also fine, dear! I am now getting old that's why I look a little weak but don't consider me weak,” He said with a laugh but I didn't laugh.
“Dad, you shouldn't compromise with your health. Tell me should I call doctor? Silly me. Why am I asking you. I should definitely call doctor,” I said getting up from the bed.
“Shanze!” He laughed, “Don't worry I am perfectly hundred percent alright!”
“Come and sit back. I want to talk to you,” Dad said with a soft smile on his face.
I sat back and turned to him. He was not looking well and I knew he would not agree to visit doctor.
“I also want to talk to you,” I whispered looking down at my hands.
“You speak first,” I heard dad’s low whisper.
I closed my eyes and gathered all my courage to tell him what I wanted.
“Dad, I. I don't know how to say. You will probably hate me but please understand that I--,” I started speaking but stopped when I looked up.
Dad was gasping for air and he held his left arm. He was looking more pale. My mind stopped working when I saw him closing his eyes.
Before he fell back on the bed I screamed loudly,
“DAD!”
