Elvon laughed sarcastically, "I was trying to remember your name, Mr. Frederick," he said, making the guest dumbfounded. Elvon stretched his hand for a handshake but Fredrick was rather carried away, deep in his thoughts. "Mr. Fredrick," Elvon called out softly. "It is nice meeting you" he responded quickly and shook his hand. Elvon strolled to the next guest, "Nice suit you have on you Mr. Andrew", he chided, shaking his hand. James was struck with the lightning of surprise, "How is this possible!" He thought within himself. Elvon was blind. How was he able to recognize them? Elvon stopped briefly and immediately he arrived in front of the last guest in the queue. "Is there a problem?" The guest asked, noticing Elvon's unusual silence. "You are Dora's father, "he announced, placing both hands in his trousers'pockets. "You don't desire my kind gesture. You, your family. Everyone that bears your name" he said. The guest bowed his head, feeling remorse. "She left me suddenly because I was blind." Elvon squatted at his level and whispered to his ear, "Tell her I can see, I will come to take what is rightfully mine. You know I keep to my promises." He rose and adjusted the guest's suit, tapping his shoulders. "Have a nice day". He winked and walked away. "That spoiled brat!" James exclaimed, wrapping his fist. The guest diverted their stares from Elvon to James and stormed angrily toward him, "You told us he was blind". They chanted angrily. James laughed nervously, "I thought he was". He responded, shrugging his shoulders. "You brought us here to embarrass us. Look how that little boy, who is the same age as my grandson, walked out on me". An old man sneered, wrapping his fist. ★ ★ ★ Elvon walked briskly into an old cottage. There was only a room there. It was dark like midnight and the smell of decayed animals filled the air. As Elvon arrived deeper into the room, a figure could be seen, seated on the chair, head bent to one side and a thick rope tied around it. "Hello dear," Elvon whispered, waving his hands. Another figure walks out of the shadow with a stool towards Elvon. It is Remington. He placed the stool gently on the ground and assisted Elvon in sitting on it. "Remove the blindfold", Elvon ordered. Remington nodded his head in approval and walked to the lady tied around the chair, he removed the blindfold from her eyes, enabling her to see clearly. The lady tried to speak but the tissue in her mouth couldn't let her. Elvon waved his hand signaling Remington to remove that also. Remington moved his fingers into her mouth, but before he could think of taking it out, the lady bit him hard then, causing him to bleed. "Urgh" Remington whimpered in pain, he wrapped his fist and hit it hard on her face. A mischievous smile came to the lady's lips, and she spat into his face, "That serves you right" Her lips were sealed suddenly as her eyes caught the cut on Remington's hand. It slowly closed up as if nothing had happened. She gasped in shock, staring at his hand, then quickly at his face in disbelief, "How… were… you… able…" She stuttered. "What are you?" Elvon clapped his hands, "Remember, beta, you are married, so no romantic stuff with her". He cautioned Remington smiled, "Never. My twins will kill me!" he exclaimed. Elvon stood up from the stool and walked towards the lady, "I told you I would pay you back Dora". He said She rolled her eyes and hissed loudly. Elvon removed his right hand from his pocket and placed it on his forehead, also shutting his eyes. "You have a beautiful life," he said. Dora shifted in fear. What does he mean? Her heart suddenly started hammering against its ribs. She tried to calm herself down by taking a few breaths but she ended up worsening it. "You were always right, I was blind," he said. Dora creased her brows, different questions kept flooding in. "The previous alpha before me lived quite long. Did you know why?" He asked, "It was because he learned to mind his business," he said again. Tears streamed down Dora's face. Did he just say alpha? No way! Was he a werewolf? "Aren't you curious to know how I was able to recognize you?" He asked, his palm was still on her forehead. Elvon suddenly grew sharp claws, he dug it into her face and a shilly cry escaped her lips. He bent towards her. Dora shook the chair in pain, trying hard to break free from the chair. "I have special abilities" he whispered in her ear. Dora shut her eyes and opened her mouth to say a brief prayer, Elvon's fangs came unexpectedly into her neck, sealing her lips. "See you in hell," he chuckled, waving his hands. Dora's eyes shut and her hand fell on her lap. ★ ★ ★ ★ "Thief!" A voice screamed from inside a mini bakery. Layla pushed the door open hugging some loaves of bread, the bell on top of the door jingled, marking her departure. "Thief!" A fat man screamed, pointing to Layla, who was in a white apron, running tirelessly to catch up with her, but he couldn't because he was unable to carry his huge body. Layla laughed heartily, she dug her dirty fingers into the bread and pushed it into her mouth. She had never been happy like that. How she loved this body. People underestimated her because she looked so old and pathetic. Sadly, they were oblivious of the soul that possessed the body. She wasn't someone a person would trade a penny for. Layla reduced her pace, she hadn't run a long mile but was already fatigued. Anything that certainly has an advantage will also have a disadvantage. She was getting nearer to the busy road, cars and motorcycles were going back and forth. Layla had lost count of the time she had spent on her earth. "Is this my first, second, or third?" Layla asked herself, chomping the bread and counting her fingers. Her legs froze suddenly in the realization, "This is my last". She screamed aloud. A truck was racing towards her, it tried to announce the danger ahead but Layla was overwhelmed by the fact she was spending her last life in a wretched body. The horn from the truck brought Layla back to reality, and her legs froze to the ground; Fear had gotten a grip on her, and she turned sharply to the truck, watching it as it arrived closer.
