If his memory serves him well, Charles remembered the Baron who reigned over the fief he lived. Baron Athanas Riveria, was a great man with countless skills. However, his righteousness brought him to own a small fief right at the edge of the land, where only farmers lived. He wasn’t corrupt like most of the nobles who kissed the king’s foot at all, which was why he was hated.
Just like him, Baron Athanas was isolated by others. Though, their reasons might differ from each other as Baron Athanas was isolated because he was righteous, while he was isolated, left alone even because he was not. Charles suddenly recalled the time when he betrayed one of his merchant friends into getting the profit himself. He didn’t remember to whom he did it, but he remembered doing so.
