The Seven Princes of Hell

Chapter 7

Lucia's point of view

"Are you okay, colonel?"

"Of course" I quickly answered Cloud.

I know he's a bit worried since all he knew, is that my memories aren't back yet, and I almost died a couple of times but for some reason, I wanna help them with this. A Colonel is a hundred percent tough position to handle, though I don't feel the pressure for now. Despite all of it, I am grateful that everyone seems to know their responsibilities.

"Sir we are 100 meters near the invaded area" the military truck driver stated causing both me and Cloud to hold our weapons tightly.

Avarice and the other troops are on the other truck behind us, so Cloud immediately passed the information using the radio. As soon as we reach 70 meters away, the truck stopped and everyone gathered immediately at the field.

Troop 9 was the first group to do the defense formation, behind them were troop 3 to support and shoot any demon who tries to destroys it. The gate was destroyed by a huge boulder, and I am hundred percent certain that the boulder was from inside of this place.

"Who did this?!" Cloud can't help but grit his teeth.

"Prepare for battle!" Corporal Avarice shouted.

Everyone held their weapons tightly as a moment of silence filled the whole area, waiting for a signal or either any attack coming from the enemies. I can almost hear my colleagues breathe and gulp as if they are believing they can make it out alive.

Though I am not certain either if I can make it since this is the very first time I am engaging in a war and not between humans but into demons.

"10 o'clock!!!!" 

That was the last thing I heard as the war started because as I turn my head in the direction, I saw hundreds of demons approaching.

Sin's point of view

I was busy flirting with one of our staff when I heard a commotion coming from the hall, it was my 4 brothers fighting over something.

"Are you nuts Death? We can't just get our asses there, we are the Princes!" Igneous exclaimed to my hard-headed brother, as hard as my... nevermind.

"Right, we are the Princes so we help our people" he calmly stated.

Wooh, this is hot and intense.  As hot as Corporal Avarice!

"Death, Igneous is right. The Corps can take care of it" Ash inserted.

"What are you all fussing around? Death said we are the princes, so gotta help our own people" Quartz, unnecessarily inserted, which doesn't make sense since he just copied Death's statement earlier.

"Bro, you sound genius just now" I whispered to him causes the both of us to chuckle.

"How 'bout I slit out that tongue of yours?! Bastard!" Igneous warned.

"What I mean Igneous, my brother, you always act like a prince" Quartz's face became serious. "Though you look like a chicken d**k " and then he burst out laughing while slapping Ash's shoulders.

If only Death isn't here, I am pretty sure this brother of mine is probably suffering in pain. 

Igneous almost had the urge to pull Quartz's collar up but Ash stood between the two of them.

"Enough, I'm going there" Death said before leaving us behind.

Actually, it's okay for me to go there since I can see Corporal Avarice, sexily fighting over those damn lost souls.

"Wait" 

That word causes Death to turn his head towards us.

"We're coming" Igneous continued.

Lucia's point of view

Shit, this isn't good. I'm a hundred percent certain that the situation is already out of our control. The defense had already been destroyed, and many of our people had been knocked out nor died.

I shooted demons as many as I can, aiming for their hearts to eliminate them but many of 'em keep coming and approaching causing me to think, what to do to stop the enemies from entering the gate.

Now that I think about it, only half of the gate was smashed up. If we can move something big to block it we might make it up and kill the remaining demons inside. But it has to be a metal, not all of the lost souls had revamped yet. I knew because I encountered some earlier.

"Lucia! To your left!"

Cloud made me snap out of reality, and before I could even dodge the attack of the demon it already smashed my weapon into pieces. The Ultima that Killea developed had been destroyed, now the only thing that I had left was the silver blade Phoenix had given to me before she left.

Cloud killed the demon that attacked me earlier, that's why I tried to stab the one behind him. But stab isn't doing anything, I have to aim for its heart! I decided to climb over its feet with all my strength, deeping all of my stabs on its dark skin causing me not to fall off.

"Colonel, careful!" Cloud shouted while shooting the other demons around.

As I reached its shoulder it immediately acted to hit its own. But before it even does, I quickly jump off in front of the demon and stab it into its heart down to its stomach. Second's after it turned into ash, and as I got back to my senses Cloud is under attack by 5 demons.

"CLOUD!"

I was about to help him get out of the situation, but another demon suddenly grabbed and shoved me to the ground. As it struck me with its long nails, I manage to block it using the blade.

"CLOUD!!"

I couldn't do anything when he's trying to save himself from the danger, I looked around and saw the other Corps members getting attacked especially the Corporal who's also helping the others to escape.

A sudden dark smoke exploded in Cloud's direction, causing the demon beside me to flinch out of fear. The smoke filled the whole area enabling me to not see the current situation, I don't know what's going on but I'm hundred percent sure something is happening.

I decided to run in Cloud's direction, hoping he's still alive. But to my surprise, something I didn't expect had happened. Cloud was smoldered with dark smoke, I saw him summoned a sword using his right hand and in a blink of an eye, the 5 demons around him turned into ash without even moving an inch where he is currently standing.

"Lucia! Get out of there!" Corporal Avarice grab me to stay away from my colleague.

"W-what is going on?! Why-"

"Cloud is the Prince of Greed, I thought you knew!?" she slightly raised her right brows. "Come on! Help me help those people to escape!"

I don't have a choice but to follow her, I'll set aside my confusions and questions for now. First thing, we have to survive the situation! As Avarice said, I help the injured ones to walk. I even grab the dead body of someone hoping we can still revive it when we reach the headquarters.

I once again shift my gaze towards Cloud's direction, I saw how he swipes away every single demon in one blow. Why did he not told me that he posses such power? More importantly, that he's one of the Princes?

"AHHHHH" 

A scream snapped me out in reality, I turned my head over my left side and saw how the other demons smashed the remaining ones alive into a pulp. Blood scattered around the whole area, and it even splashed right into my face.

I quickly released my colleague and shoved him on the other side when the demon acted to hit us, I draw my blade and blocked its sharp nails from slicing me into half. But at that time, I didn't know its other hands were about to strike me. A strong impact hits causing me to flew away and stumble into the ground, my body was stunned and I no longer can move my finger. My blood was starting to stream and I can't do anything to stop it.

All I can think is maybe this is going to be the end of my journey, that I can no longer get out of here together with Angelique and Phoenix.

"Lucia" a familiar voice suddenly lingered all over my ears, a voice I am craving to hear through all this time. "Everything's gonna be alright now"

As I opened my eyes wanting to see him, I saw his pale face smiling in front of me. He wiped the blood on my face using his hands and kissed me on the forehead.

I heard the demons growled in unison as soon as the man in front of me summoned his black sword out of nowhere.

I see, so he's one of the Princes huh.

The last thing I saw before I closed my eyes is his heartwarming smile, his smile that I never knew I'll miss.

"Dark.."
