Burning Bridges
Gary limped away from the compound, his injuries making it hard to keep up with Elsa, but his determination kept him moving.
Liam couldn’t believe what had just happened—how Elsa had risked everything to help Gary escape. “She set my house on fire to free the murderer of her parents”. The words echoed in his mind, and he clenched his fists in anger.
He had expected her to act out of fear, but this was too far. She had not only endangered herself but everyone around her. His house was in shambles, and now he had to deal with the aftermath. He looked back, watching as fire trucks and emergency services swarmed the compound to put out the flames. The firefighters were hard at work, trying to control the chaos Elsa had unleashed in her desperation to free Gary.
