Regrets "I hope I am not interrupting," Sandra asked."Hi, am Sandra, Alexander's… gi…friend" She flaunted. Ella replied with a handshake "Hi, am Ella". She stood up to leave but Alexander held her hand tightly. Sandra looked at them and smirked. Ella withdrew her hand again and dashed out of the door. Alexander looked at Sandra in a rage. "Why are you here?". "I came to see, but now I think you are having so much fun without me," Sandra said, walking around the room with her arms folded. She has always yawned for him to hold her hand just for a second. Seeing him holding Ella broke her heart to pieces. Sandra is a corny pretty lady. She uses her beauty to extort money from rich men and Alexander is one of them. Sandra has been manipulating Alexander into making him believe she loves him a lot but that has not been the case. She knows him well enough to know how much he needs someone beside him. Ever since Alexander caught her with another man, he has severed all ties with her. Sandra could care less about what he thinks all she wants is his money. "Sandra, I am asking you for the last time what you want. Why are you at my office" He reprimanded her in a loud tone. "Let's forget why I am here for now. Is she, not Ella Thompson, the famous journalist?" She slammed on the sofa and exhaled heavily. Alexander stood there looking furiously at her not saying a word. Sandra smiled at him and shook her head vigorously "Oh Alexander, don't tell me she has manipulated you into thinking that she cares about your past. You and I know she is a journalist and I don't need to tell you what journalists do". She stood up and walked slowly to him. Rubbing her hand on his chest. "Alex, see I care so much about you to know when you might be in danger and right now Ella is a threat to you. Imagine her linking your details to the media, what you have been trying to hide for all these years. Think about it" She giggled and headed for the door. "Just get lost!" Alexander yelled behind her. He shrank back and exhaled heavily. He became disturbed by Sandra's words. He has suffered so much to assert his late father's business and if Sandra was right about Ella he was going to lose his handwork. There was no way he was letting that happen. He was trying to convince himself of how nice Ella was and that she wouldn't do such a thing. But he couldn't take the risk. After all, he just met her not quite long ago. He reached out for his phone to call his assistant. "Keep me updated on Letterrex's latest news feed" Alexander commanded. *********** "I didn't even have to chase the ball, it has come to my court" Sandra excitedly said, smoothing her long blonde hair. She thought that would be a great opportunity for her to come back into his life with the help of Ella. "I'm so clever" She complimented herself. The next day Ella pushed the door to the conference room and opened it to find everyone gathered. It hadn't been quite long since she arrived at the company so she wasn't sure of what was going on. She walked pessimistically to her usual position staring at the faces of her co-workers. Everyone was whispering and all she could hear from one of them was that someone had given out an important article to the company which every staff member would be working on. "Article" She pondered to herself. She tried to eavesdrop but the manager walked into the room. She sat down and smiled happily at them. "Well, today I had a meeting with someone who gave us an insight about Mr Alexander's personality which will boost our media press next week. So I called you all here to appoint someone for the press ushering". Everyone applauded except Ella who was lost in her thoughts. She battled the questions which couldn't stop popping into her head. Her mind drove back to fear in Alexander's eyes when he told her the story of his background and now that it was out how was he going to face the shame of being a billionaire with a low and bad background? Tears rushed down her eyes and she was left helpless to wipe them off. She felt sudden silence and looked up. Everyone was glancing at her. She sobbed softly and wiped her eyes. She was appointed as a volunteer to usher their press for the next week. "Could these days get any worse?" she thought. She was confused and couldn't concentrate on the meeting. Her mind was filled with questions. "How will Alexander see me now? What if he doesn't believe me… oh God!" She exhaled heavily and stood to leave since she realized that the gathering was over. She spent hours in her office trying to convince herself that it might be Alexander who willingly decided to open up his secrets to the world. "Am here!! " Katrina yelled from the door. She rushed to Ella who was not in the mood to see her. "Bebes, what's up? Karina sat down curiously. Are you ok? You looked disturbed. "I don't understand either Karina" Ella said covering her face with her hands. "Well I haven't heard anything that I don't understand, so tell me. And how did your meeting with Alexander" Karina asked, raising her eyebrows. Ella exhaled and slanted back on the chair. She felt so heavy to speak. Her eyes were focused on the ceilings. "Ella, you know we are best of friends so spill it out". Ella narrated her problems to Karina." And now am confused. Today I remember seeing Sandra leaving the company, something tells me she must be behind this show". "One, who is this Sandra and why will she want her boyfriend to be out in public in that manner" Karina asked in confusion. "I don't know her too well but I can tell how obsessed she is with Alexander. The whole thing is confusing but I must find out what's going on. Follow me" Ella commanded.
