Quietly, Theresa and I returned to Aunt Raquel’s house. My friend was still sleeping soundly, unaware that we had left with me earlier.
Carefully, Theresa and I changed inside the car, so we were wearing different clothes when we woke up in the morning.
Even though we slept late again, we woke up early due to the noise of the neighbors talking outside. With a headache, I got up and looked at Theresa still wrapped in a blanket, because of the cold temperature here in the mountains at this time of the morning.
“Good morning, Macie,” I greeted my friend with a yawn.
“The morning isn’t good here in the neighborhood, Agatha. Last night, while we were sleeping, bandits came down from the mountains and kidnapped the captain,” my friend replied weakly and with fear.
