In the village Narkissa.
Gael was filled with enjoyment as he has never experienced such things and he could finally put his Achilles to good use. He was also very glad he made such good friends with them. He then ran over to his house seeing Doctor McLee and Lara inside. He was shocked to see why they came home. And then as soon as Gael entered he asked, “Doctor? And Miss Lara? W-What are you guys doing here?”
“Ah! Here he is! Speak of the devil!” said the Doctor as he smiled.
Gael then saw some bags kept aside by Doctor and Lara. He then realized that they were his bags. But why does Doctor McLee have it? And why is it packed?
“W-what’s happening? Why are my bags down here?” puzzled Gael.
Doctor cleared his throat and requested, “Gael, do you mind if we both talk for a while outside? Lara will handle things here.”
Gael was surprised at what he just said and yet without any hesitation, he said, “Yeah alright no probs!”
Doctor McLee looked at Lara and the family indicating that Lara shouldn’t mess up things here as he was walking towards the yard outside.
Doctor then sat beside a tree and with a big sigh said, “This view is just beautiful! I envy you for having such great scenery beside your house.”
“What is going on? My bags? Why did you come to my house all of a sudden? And why’d you say Lara to handle things there? What is happening?” questioned Gael as he was confused.
Doctor gave him a big smile and said, “Isn’t it obvious? You’re going with them!”
“Huh? ‘Them’? Who do you mean ‘them’?” dumbfounded Gael.
“Those people you were talking to up in the forest, silly! I was glad you made friends like that. You were very happy. And I felt very good seeing you like that Gael. I am truly glad.”
“What the hell? I didn’t even say anything! And you just packed my stuff? Without even telling me?” shouted Gael as he was surprised to hear that.
“What? You don’t like them?”
“No! It’s just that… I don’t know...”
Doctor patted Gael’s shoulder and said, “Gael, I know you very well. You don’t tell me anything, but your expressions are the only thing I need to understand. I have never seen you very happy ever before as you were with them. So don’t you want to go with them? Or...did they reject you?”
Gael looked down and said, “No, They asked me to join them... But I ran away. And I have made my decision, I won’t join them. I can’t just leave my family and my village here.”
“Again, your expressions say otherwise, Gael. But it’s your decision, I am just a helping hand here. I thought you might take it. And if you care about your family that hits you every day, don’t call you or treat you as a child, I am speechless on what more I should say.”
“They won’t let me Doc. They never will...”
“And that is exactly why I left Lara to handle things over there. And as much as I know her, she will surely handle it. Or so I hope she does...”
“Tell her to stop. I am not leaving with them.”
“Hmm? You don’t want to join them? And here I thought you were eager to join them, I thought you would finally be happy. Also, I know one of them very well, his name is Eunara. He has helped our village once we were out of medicinal plants and products. I trust them as they are good and I see no harm.” said Doctor.
“Eunara? Do you know him? Then... who else do you know?” asked Gael.
“The last time he came, he also came with the girl. Uh if I remember correctly, her name was… uh... Lalia something...”
“It’s Khalia.” said Gael as he facepalmed, “Are you sure you’re good with memories? Jeez, I have no idea how you’re still a doctor!”
“Ah yes, Khalia! She has grown very tall compared to before. And hey, I am not the only one in this world who can’t remember names that well alright? Doesn’t mean I have bad memories... And those 2 were a big help in our village. The last time I saw only the 2 of them, but this time they came with a few more. I don’t know what was the reason they came here again today, but I do know that you were included with them. Am I right?”
Gael gave a big smile and said, “Yes! And you know what? I also took down an enemy! He was planning to take Trixannia from our village illegally by using his Engine Form.”
“Hmm? Trixannia of all things? And Engine Form eh? I see, so there are more people out there who do have Engine Forms after all.”
“Yes, in fact, those people too have Engine Form except for Khalia and Eunara that is.”
Gael then continued talking to him and told the entire incident that had happened in the forest.
“Wow, I am impressed. You finally put your Achilles to a good use Gael! I am very proud of ya! See? Aren’t you enjoying it?”
Gael’s smile went back down again and he looked sad.
“Hey! What happened to that smile and excitement all of a sudden eh? Where did it go?”
“To be frank Doctor,” Gael slowly started to brighten up and continued, “I felt nice by helping those people and trying to save my village. My Achilles was a great helping hand. And I was glad I got to use it for an efficient cause this time. I- I am for the first time very satisfied and happy Doc.”
“Then what are you waiting for Gael!? Go ahead and join them! Being with them, you’ll cross a lot of adventures, which you gladly love, isn’t it? So this is it, Gael! You finally can do what you want to do!” advised the Doctor as he gave a big smile to Gael by brushing his hair.
“But Doc, I don’t wanna leave you. I don’t want to leave you and Lara behind. You people have cared for me the most than what my own family has...” admitted Gael as his eyes started to tear suddenly.
Doctor then brought him closer and hugged him and said, “Don’t worry Gael, we will be waiting for you to come back. And Once you do, we will be all ears to listen to your adventures and stories!”
Gael looked surprised and suddenly shouted, “I’ll miss you Doc!”
Doctor couldn’t help but start crying too. Yet he never showed the tears to Gael and started covering them. And then he looked at him and said, “I will miss you too Gael.”
“Oh! Yes I completely forgot!” said Doctor McLee while handing him something out of his suitcase, “Here, have this.”
Gael looked suddenly shocked and appalled, “No way! Doc isn’t this the latest model called ‘Sora’, you were developing on!?”
Doctor McLee works as a scientist in the organization called ‘Touch company’, where they entirely deal with electronic types of equipment. It is the only organization in the village that deals with electronics. And Doctor McLee was working on something, he was developing a new gadget, that can control various electronics, computers, and can recharge electronics and more through a multitasking gadget called ‘Sora’.
“Why on earth are you giving this to me Doc? And you haven’t even shown it to the company yet, have you?” puzzled Gael.
“I can make more like this ya know! And Touch can keep multiplying them. But this is the first one I created with some special effects. As I made it specifically only for you, Gael. Also, the one I am giving is completely different from the others, once you start using it you'll get to know. It has all the features you need!” smiled Doctor McLee.
“But Doc I-”
“Oh yes! How could I ever forget about this?” said Doctor as he took something from his lab coat’s pocket and gave Gael a stone type of locket. He then attached it to Gael’s watch.
“Ew, what the hell is that Doc?” cringed Gael.
“Hey now! It’s a very pretty one. Think of it as a mascot to your journey alright?”
Gael looked at his wrist and cringed even more, “How is this ugly thing going to bring me good luck, Doc?”
“Just keep wearing that. Never remove it alright!” said Doctor.
Gael took a big sigh and said, “Yeah alright…”
Then after a while, both of them went back to Gael’s house. Lara then looked at both of them smilingly and covered her hands and showed a thumbs up to the Doctor indicating everything was fine.
“So Gael, you are planning to go to a boarding school are you?” asked Gael’s father.
“Huh? Boarding school!?” said Gael as he was surprised to hear that from his father.
Doctor then facepalmed and thought to himself, “Of course, why wouldn’t Lara mess up more and come up with an excuse like this?”
Doctor then patted Gael and said, “Uh- Yes Gael, the boarding school we were just talking about!”
Gael then thought it was an act and Lara obviously lied to them and he then sighed and said, “Yes father I am going to a boarding school.”
“Hmm. I see. Well then, if you go there, there won’t be any kind of trouble to handle at this house. It’ll be in peace. So uh.. try your best to not fail our family.” sighed Gael’s father.
“Hey, i***t! Don’t weep there every single day, you moron. Or else we gotta start coming there and beat you up!” mocked Gerald. his younger sibling.
Gael then looked at him and sighed. And then he remembered talking to Elijah about when they were going to leave.
“We are leaving right after cleaning up all the mess we created. But it looks like there’s not much as your villagers have already started to clear things up. So we might leave soon by 3 in the noon itself” these were the words Gael remembered as of what Elijah had said. And then Gael looked at the clock to see that it was 3 already.
“Doc! It’s 3 o’clock! They said they will be leaving by 3 itself!” panicked Gael as he started to take all his bags and necessary things from his room.
“‘They’? Who do you mean ‘they’?” asked Gael’s father as he was curious.
“Oh no! Yes, the bus! The bus stays at the stop for about 5 minutes and leaves then sharp at a time! And it is a bit far away from the shore. So we uh... gotta hurry up, you know?” giggled doctor as he brushed his hair off.
“Hey Gael! Don’t you dare put our family down do ye’ hear me?” shouted Gael’s mom.
Doctor and Lara then picked up Gael’s stuff and started to head out to the river as Elijah told Gael that they would be leaving along with a ship. Whereas Gael started to hurry too from his room as he had packed everything.
As soon as he headed out of the house and waved at them as he left but they never waved back. Sandra, his younger sister came running out and called, “Gael! Wait a minute!”
Gael then stopped to see Sandra came out with a bracelet in her hand.
“What? I am running late! I gotta go…” said Gael in a hurry.
“I- I made this bracelet yesterday. So keep it with you. And be safe out there alright.” smiled Sandra as he put on Gael’s hand a bracelet.
Gael smiled and brushed Sandra’s hair and said, “Yeah alright! Thanks, Sandra! I’ll keep this with me wherever I go okay! And you take good care of yourself! Bye now!”
Gael then waved at Sandra as he ran. Sandra is the only one in the family that is concerned and worried about Gael. And also the only one who talks to him the most. Even though she’s rough at him, she still cares for him deep inside.
