After a while.
Elijah then woke up sitting under a tree and saw Gael sitting beside him.
“W-Woah, w-what happened? Am I alive?” queried Elijah.
“You’re fine! Goodness, you’re so clumsy!” said Gael as he facepalmed.
Elijah started scratching his head and then looked here and there is confusion and then asked, “What exactly happened? I don’t remember anything well. The last thing I remember is Khalia trying to choke me. And then... I don’t remember pretty well…”
“Well, you collapsed. And we dealt with the enemy already. He’s dead in fact. See! He’s right there!” said Gael as he was pointing at Patrick’s corpse which was covered with white cloth.
“Oh Woah! Finally, that stuff is over now. And wait, he's dead?? Did they do it? Orwan and the others killed him?”
“No. It wasn’t them. It seems to be like that guy couldn’t handle the pain my ‘spookers’ gave him. And so he died soon enough as he couldn’t endure more pain and bleeding. So yeah, long story short, I defeated him!” said Gael.
“No way! You? You were just crying out loud a moment ago! Haha can’t believe you did it.” mocked Elijah.
“HEY! I wasn’t having the right equipment back then alright! I forgot all of them elsewhere. That’s why!” claimed Gael.
“Alright alright, I get it! Crybaby!” smirked Elijah.
“Hmpf! Oh and also, do you mind telling me about you guys? You people are different...Well I mean it’s so unnatural. Like you know, that guy over there..” said Gael as he pointed at Orwan,” He said something about, him twisting one of your adrenals. Which I have never seen. He also did something to your body, that is why you’re okay now. And the other girl right there has nails longer than that of a wild creature. It comes around 30cm long! H-how is it? What are you people exactly?”
“Oh, no wonder I feel better now. And look kid, I am not that great at explaining and stuff…”
“It’s fine! I am just so curious. And don’t worry, you’re not the only I know one who has a different way of talking..” sighed Gael as he remembered Doctor McLee’s assistant Lara.
“Very well then,” Elijah cleared his throat and continued,” So that guy over there, whom you asked, his name is Orwan. He has a medical Engine Form...”
“Engine Form huh? I see, so others have it too then. I thought Doc was bluffing back then.” thought Gael inside his mind.
“Nope, it’s a real thing...So his Engine Form can heal a person once he touches them. If there’s poison in your body, Orwan can easily squeeze the poison out. And in terms of battle, his Engine Form is kind of brutal. Like I saw it once, he starts to move his fingers to a place where he wants to target his opponent's body, and only he can do that when he is in contact with a person, and man you don’t wanna see that. Otherwise, it’s cool you know. But he’s just too old-fashioned. I mean look at the clothes he’s wearing. It’s like a guy from the ‘70s. And like I said he can heal and move their organs or as you saw, he can twist an organ. It’s pretty weird if you ask me though. But it’s amazing! If you are an enemy and he touches you, then BAAM! You’re done for! But only if he touches a person’s body though. He told me that’s his one big weakness”
“Woah! Pretty rash but amazing and the healing stuff is cool!!”
“Yeah, I know. And that girl right there,” continued Elijah while pointing at Catie, ”Her name is Catie, she has a crazy Engine Form, it’s in her nails. Her nails just grow. They grow as long as 6-7 cm. They’re almost like claws but it's not curved or anything, it’s just like how normal human nails are shaped. And once they do grow, they become just as sharp as a blade. She can legit peel off skin just that! And Honestly, it matches her. I mean she’s already scary without her Engine Form, with it, she’s just a witch! And on the positive side, she is a lot of help. She can scare normal people with that thing...”
“Haha! I see, that is pretty scary. But a nice Engine Form and a big help too....”
“And then there’s that girl over there,” Elijah pointed at Perria, “Her name is Perria. She is covering her hands with gloves and all now, but her entire hands are artificial. Both of them.”
“Artificial?? How is she alive!?” thrilled Gael.
“Well, it went out of my head at first too. But it seems like her hands are filled with artificial intelligence that she had created. And with the help of that, she also created a robot that is controlled by her AI, she calls it ‘Perriazelart’ and sometimes she can control it by her mind too if she needs to. And at times if she wants she can only pull out the robot's hand or legs for small occasions. But for battle, she brings out the robot in the field. Like she can bring a freakin robot out of her hands! Isn’t that cool!? I was pretty amazed! But she is always low on stamina all the time. And that is why she entirely relies on that robot of hers. Or we can also call it a cyborg. Although, she says her cyborg isn’t complete yet. She even calls it weak. I honestly think it’s pretty strong...”
“Woaaaah!!! That Engine Form is so cool!!”, Gael shivered with excitement.
“I know! And as for that guy...” added Elijah as he pointed at Andel, “He is another old fashioned guy. Like wherever he goes he wears suits. And his Engine Form excels in combat. Like boxing, karate, kung fu, honestly, it’s just all Martial arts. Pretty cool isn’t it? Like, have you seen his body? He can just knock 20 people just kicking them all together at once!”
“That’s so beyond belief…” glazed Gael.
“Hey trust me! Oh okay fine. He can’t just kick all of them at once, but he’s fast alright! He can run as fast as he wants and just knock them down soon enough. And also, once he kicks or punches you, you are ultimately not going to wake up for more than a day! And the damage that he’d do to your face is just beyond thinkable.
You wouldn’t even recognize your face! At least, that’s what happened to me…” said Elijah in embarrassment.
“I am not surprised actually, his bodybuilding is just great! I knew something like this would be his ability... And he knocked you out? And you woke up a day after that? Man, you sure are one ruthless fella!”
“Hey! I just made fun of his hair! I mean he's a badass and all but his hair looks like an old man from the 80s! And even so, if you had that punch, I swear you wouldn’t wake up even for a month! You cry baby!” mocked Elijah as he mimicries.
“Oh please! Again with that already! You’re beyond hope!” sighed Gael. “Hey, also what about those two? The one man who’s wearing a mask which is kind of scary if you ask me, and the other girl if I recall properly, her name is Khalia? And that man, I haven’t seen him at all. He just popped out of nowhere. And from the looks of it, he isn’t your age. He kinda seems a bit like in his 40s or 50s. What are their abilities?”
Elijah took a big sigh and said, “Well, they both are mysterious alright. Like Eunara, I get it. But Khalia I have no idea...And how on earth does Eunara look 50 to you?? To me he kind of looks more like a 30-year-old or something. But again, that’s a mystery too...”
“Wait, Eunara? That was the same name Khalia told me about. It seems like he protected the villagers from Patrick’s attack. Is that his Engine Form?”
“No, it’s not. Among all of us, those 2 are the only ones who don’t have an Engine Form. And Eunara has some kind of ability where he can create a defensible barrier or something. And abilities like Engine Form can not enter into the barrier. And when we were in the forest, Eunara was trying to secure the village, to see if there were more enemies. And that’s not all to his ability. There is more, but we’re not completely aware.”
“Oh, I see. So the reason why he wasn’t there all this time and why Mr. WIllmond couldn’t control the villagers with his ability, was because of him? That is just great! I didn’t expect that!”
“Yeah. I know,” said Elijah.
“Oh! And one more thing, Mr. Eunara keeps saying things like ‘Eunara 3.0 happy, Eunara 4.0 upset...’ Why does he keep saying that? And while he eats food, somehow the food he eats goes inside his mouth. But he is wearing a mask. How is that possible?” asked Gael out of curiosity.
“Oh yeah… The thing is, as he is wearing a mask no one can tell apart his feelings and emotions behind that mask. So he is saying these words, for us to know how he feels. And apparently, there is an ‘invisible mouth’ in that mask but none of us know how it works though. Y-Yeah I know it’s weird...” grinned Elijah sarcastically as he was scratching his head.
“Uh- oh well...” sighed Gael and then suddenly questioned Elijah, “And oh yes! What about Khalia? She has one like Eunara too?”
“As I said, I have no idea whether she has some ability or not. All I know is that they're pretty powerful. And their ability will always be a mystery.”
“Wow, you people are awesome!”
“You aren’t bad either, you know. You’re good at crying” giggled Elijah.
“Goodness! Nothing will change you, will it?” facepalmed Gael.
Elijah then kept on making fun of him and then Gael suddenly queried, “Hey wait, you have an Engine Form too right? What is it?”
“Ah well, Eunara told me that I have an Engine Form in both of my eyes,” replied Elijah.
“Your eyes!!?? B-but how does that work exactly??” puzzled Gael.
“Well, think of it this way. I am a sniper. I fight with guns. So yeah! My Engine Form is in my eye or something like that. That’s it. Simple as that.” smiled Elijah.
“But that time-”
“So you’re finally up moron! We thought you were going to have a sleepover with those animals there! Haha!” interrupted Catie as she started to mock Elijah.
“Yeah yeah, whatever! I am hungry, where's the food you guys!?” asked Elijah.
“Hey come on here buddy! We left this for you! Eat it or Khalia might finish it off!” shouted Andel.
“Hey! No Khalia! It’s mine!”
“Alright alright! I won’t take it. Now eat up! We gotta help the villagers too!” said Khalia as she turned at Andel and whispered, ”Thanks for ruining it, Andel!”
“Come on, sharing is caring, Khalia.” giggled Andel.
“Yeah...right” frowned Khalia.
“Yeah yeah, sure I’ll help them… But after I get this to the bottom of my belly of course,” said Elijah.
“But that still doesn’t explain how in the forest he could come and react so fast to the bear next to me at that time from a far distance. I don’t think he is still aware of his ability completely yet. That is why he didn’t say anything else other than having an Engine Form in both of his eyes...” mused Gael in his mind.
“Hey Gael! We have food for you too! Some of the villagers provided some food from the capital to us. For thanking us. So come and join Gael!” invited Perria.
“Yeah sure!” replied Gael.
“Man you sure are cool! You beat that guy by yourself kid! We didn’t even help you!” cheered Andel.
“Ah no, that was nothing! He was just too easy, you know!” bragged Gael.
“Hey don’t show off too much okay. If it wouldn’t have been for me, you would’ve already been eaten by that bear that time we saw by then!” jeered Elijah as he was eating meat.
“Now, now Elijah… I mean ‘Sleeping Beauty’!” mocked Gael.
