CHAPTER 4: The Weirdo

3806 Words
Guilt and regret, those are two important words. They define me… who I am before and who I am now that I am here… I am not after the seeking and the messing of the destinies of the mortals to which I once was… Although… I had my share of becoming a Destiny Seeker, myself, toying with the destinies of all those who… I know… deserve it and to those who f****d up my life before I got here… I am after something better… You see, these ‘PURE’ gods as they call themselves to differentiate themselves from me… who is only part god… they are fighting for the throne. Lord Exyd, my original benefactor, is planning on passing his will… or inheritance on one of us, yes I was also included. But these assholes… they just won’t accept me for who I was. Thankfully, when Lady Naxo visited a few… I don’t know… years ago or decades… I forgot how the time works here, she saw something in me despite not bowing in front of her unlike these ones who are suckers for attention… or promotion. Along with that Czarina girl… in here she is called Injectro, you know… a play with the word Introject? I don’t even understand the concept of introjection, myself… but she does have a good impression of being a copycat. Yes, I am after the inheritance. I want to be the next in line to become the Supreme Being of Fate. You know what I’ll be doing when I become the next Exyd? I will make sure to restore my broken destiny. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Wolfe F’lux… also known as the Weirdo. I am the Destiny God of Misfortune… You tentacle freaks once asked me what my main goal was when I was partly turned into a god by Lord Exyd. Well, this is my answer… After the war… that will be happening in a few months, I will personally wage war against one of the Supreme Beings we are allied with. I will make sure to f**k up the Supreme Being of Creation who I once worshipped back when I was a human… I blame it all to him… He never answered my prayers… all the more the prayers of the others who were most in need aside from me… He was the forerunner of my own demise. He was the reason of my guilt and regrets in life. [Mr. X’s POV] “As for you gentleman and ladies,” he looked at us with his dead eyes, “you can take their carcasses away. But beware, don’t get in my way… especially you...” he stared directly at me, “gentleman with the X marked mask. Your fortune and my misfortune are cancelling each other out…” “My main target is Suoic Ipsus!” I told him. “He’s the one I am after!” “I see… then aside from the rest, I will not be targeting him.” He put up a sinister smile, “If you die, however, I will no longer honor our pact… if you are willing to make a pact with me.” “Alright, Mr. F’lux… we have a deal…” I nodded at him. “Great,” he turned around and headed for the door in front, “I’ll wait for you guys beyond this door. Just enter if you finish taking their carcasses…” A few seconds later… “Mr. O,” Ms. Y contacted the HQ, “we have captured three of them already.” “Truly astounding to hear that you have captured three easily,” Mr. O doubtfully replied to us. “Master W is actually here with me right now. Give me a second… I’ll open up the gateway…” At one corner of the hall the Mr. O’s portal opened up. What welcomed them, though, was very shocking… “You did all of this?” Mr. O, even with his mask on, covered his mouth and nose with a handkerchief, “My goodness, you three are brutal.” Ms. Z waved both of her hands, “N-no, actually…” “Somebody else did it,” Master W came out of the gateway and started gathering the bodies. “Who was it?” “A Destiny Seeker named F’lux,” I answered. “He could’ve been your replacement when you left. Said he was part human…” “It could be a trap,” Mr. O decided to ignore the bodies being carried by Master W’s tentacles which were more terrifying than the trio’s. “Yeah, but…” Ms. Y just raised her hands presenting how great it would’ve become if it were really a trap, “how could you say it was a trap when these three are on the verge of disappearing into oblivion?” “Yes,” Master W examined the bodies, “this is too good to be a trap…” “He’s actually behind that door… waiting for us…” I turned my head on the door behind me, “He’s going to take us to Suoic Ipsus, my main target. This is too good to pass on…” “What bothers is that… he was part human,” Master W finally finished carrying the bodies back to his room. “What is he the god of?” “Destiny Seeker of Misfortune,” Ms. Z answered him, “that’s what he said…” “Your powers may be very alike, Mr. X.” Master W looked back at me as he entered the gateway. “You have the power of luck on your side keeping you alive and safe, however it could be that his powers can cause other misfortune to other people. Was he in his Metamorphosis?” “You mean his monster form?” I tried to recall, “No, he looked human to me…” “Except for his left hand, Master W.” Ms. Y, who had better eyesight than I was perfectly saw every detail captured in HD (high definition) at 60fps (frames per second) quality. “He hand deep blue metallic claws… like the silver stingers at the edge of your tentacles.” “So he in in his half-mode, just like me,” Master W sighed. “Send your captured data to Ms. M so that she can register bits of pieces of information.” “It’s time for us to go… just contact us if you need to retreat…” Mr. O closed the portal. “I feel like we forgot to tell them some other details…” Ms. Z sighed. “Don’t bother,” I said. “He might’ve said other details… but those things aren’t our concern… as of the moment…” “Shall we go then?” Ms. Y heads towards the door. “We should still be careful… extra careful…” I nodded to both of them and opened the door to our next destination… “You know I actually idolized the one you called Master W,” F’lux surprised us with what he said while leaning on the wall beside the door. “I was actually eavesdropping,” he then grinned. “Don’t look surprised now… you really should trust me…” “So do you think he is correct when he said that our powers may be alike in some ways?” I asked him. “Y E A H… probably,” he grinned. “You see, when I was brought here… come on lighten up you guys… I’m actually telling you my story… it’s too boring walking without saying anything while walking along a lonely corridor filled with these black particles…” I looked at Ms. Y and Ms. Z and shrugged my shoulders while nodding… “Ha… fine…” Ms. Y sighed. “But we’ll still have to be cautious around you…” Ms. Z just put two thumbs up… “Alright, continue,” I looked back at him as we walked towards our next destination. “So I told you I was idolizing Master W,” he continued talking as if we were his long-time friends. “When I was brought here, I was given his room and of course… being isolated and alone… again… just like when I was still human… I checked every book in his room and every single item he had. He also had a journal detailing about how he weaved the destinies of people and even saved some failed destinies. He also detailed how his brethren grew bored of their jobs and decided to become Destiny Seekers…” Surprisingly, we listened to him intently… “Surprise-surprise… I became one as well…” he looked at the abyssal ceiling. “You guys were actually doing the same thing as us, right? I heard from Spriggan the Ex-Mr. S of your emissary brotherhood… that you even destroyed universes just to restore the balance of the Verse, right?” “Well…” I suddenly felt bad about myself after what we did when Suoic Ipsus tried to hunt me down showing his monstrous form in front of all the mortals causing chaos and imbalance… “I’m not sure…” “I don’t really think guys destroyed a universe…” F’lux raised his demonic left hand up above. “You could’ve destroyed just a world… you know… just one planet of humans. I’ve seen universes with multiple galaxies containing multiple worlds capable of producing human lives…” He stopped so suddenly that we thought we were caught off guard that we instinctively raised our weapons at him. “Whoa, Chill!!!” he laughs, “I just thought of something…” Ms. Z couldn’t helped but sit down on the floor, “Man, you made my heart jump…” Ms. Y’s knees were actually shaking that she sat down on the floor as well. “Are you actually playing with us?” As for me, I remained still… lowering my weapons… “Since we are going to Suoic Ipsus,” F’lux grinned, “I was actually eavesdropping on his schedule of humans to play with and thought of surprising him by being a passenger of a bus he is supposed to be targeting later today. How about we become passengers? Of course… your masks are in the way…” “I kind of like your idea,” I pressed a hidden button on my mask to generate a fake face complete with casual attire. “I was thinking of doing this again but I just don’t know how… but now with you here… I guess I’d give it a go.” “This isn’t a trap, right?” Ms. Z changed into her fake persona. “Of course it isn’t a trap,” F’lux transformed his demonic hand into that of a human’s together with his gold and silver costume into a regular gray jacket and yellow t-shirt, “why would I waste such a moment? Listen, if you didn’t appear, I would’ve still done this part myself… but since Mr. X is willing to take my job… and make it easier for me to just backstab the others… then by all means…” “You look trusting enough,” Ms. Y changed into her fake persona, “but what would happen if we finished the job?” “Then you go home,” he approached her, seemingly attracted by her beautiful fake persona. “and when we meet again… … … it wouldn’t be the same as before, right?” “What you mean is that we are back at being enemies, right?” I looked at him in his dead eyes. “Are you ready?” he fired up a portal and brought us to a human world. “We might end up saving the lives of these people… when you’re done with him… but remember… vehicular accidents tend to happen with or without Suoic Ipsus’ meddling so…” “Let’s jump into,” I jumped out first… In an alley without CCTV and people around, we made our way out. “Do you know which bus or bus station?” I asked him, just in case… “I’ll be your tour guide,” he licked his upper and lower lip. “I’ve been here before, you know… and I will pay for your tickets as well…” A few minutes later… listening to the endless stories of F’lux, we finally got to take our seats. I was seated beside Ms. Z while Ms. Y sat with him. Actually, I was supposed to sit with him but… because he and I are actually opposites, we decided that it was best to sit apart from each other. As the bus drove away, we just sat there… and patiently waited for the moment Suoic Ipsus takes us to his domain… “Hey Mr. X,” Ms. Z whispers to my ear, “I kind of feel like that F’lux guy likes Ms. Y, what do you think they are talking about?” “I’m not sure,” I was rather not interested because of Suoic Ipsus so I just shrugged it off. “Let’s just ask her later…” “If ever F’lux finds out that Ms. Y’s true face is more beautiful than that,” Ms. Z smirked, “F’lux would end up joining our side, don’t you think?” “You know what I think,” I looked at her, “I might’ve chosen the wrong seatmate…” She punched me in the arm, “Hey that’s harsh!” “I’m just kidding…” I sighed, “teenagers…” “I heard that…” she leered at me. An hour passed… and then… it happened… just like back then when I first arrived at his domain. F’lux grinned at us, excited of what’s going to happen. I was being nostalgic as I look at the pillars, that damned chandelier and the decorated hall. I wonder what kind of game he will make us play. As we hid among our fellow passengers… Dressed in white, together with his white gentleman hat, his white cane, his monocle, and his blonde hair… yet this time… I noticed that unlike other areas I’ve been to in Providence, this place didn’t have the black particles… Of course, he made his awfully long speech… talking to the passengers about playing a game in order to live… the same Suspicious Introduction… Isn’t he getting tired of all his shenanigans? I asked myself… Is it time for me to make my entrance or… should I play his games first? I looked at F’lux and then he approached me… “This is where you surprise him with a grand entrance,” he said while staring at him talking s**t. “Remember, if you die, I will just finish the job, alright? I swear to Lady Naxo and Lord Exyd that I will not lay a hand on you guys until we part from each other.” “You really are hell-bent on enacting your revenge,” I left him and made my way in front excusing myself from the fellow passengers disrupting Suoic Ipsus in his explanations of his little game. “What the f**k are you doing there?!” he yelled at me as I made my way through him. “Can’t you see that I am explaining how you can survive this race?” “Survive?” I rolled my eyes. “The last time that I was brought here… you explained the same s**t and you killed still didn’t allow any survivors…” “What are you talking about?” he sounded suspicious of me. “I was actually…” I cracked my fists, “here before. Do you remember?” “N-no,” he was shaking as he stepped backwards. “Don’t tell me…” “Do you remember when I beat you in your own game, Suoic Ipsus?” I changed back to my original form with the X marked mask and my blue uniform. “YOU!!!” Unexpectedly, he ripped off his clothes and metamorphosed into the draconic dragonfly form scaring the passengers running away leaving Ms. Y, Ms. Z and F’lux, pretending to be one of us, standing in front of him. “Yes,” I showed him my right hand… fingers crossed, “I’m Mr. X…” Without second thoughts, he lunged at me with everything he’s got, “DIE!!!” I invoked, “Destiny’s Coil…” Out of nowhere… The chandelier above fell down on top of him, stopping me from getting at me! “You should’ve learned your lesson, the first time we met,” I brandished my assault rifle and fired at him. “I’m always lucky…” Hearing me talking trash at him, made him explode into a rampage tossing the chandelier aside… glaring at me… preparing to lunge for a second time. However, he was stopped by the incessant laughing of F’lux… who really can’t help it. “THIS IS f*****g EMBARRASSING FOR A PRINCE!” F’lux transformed back to his half mode laughing as hard as he could, “WHAT’S WRONG, STUPID IPSUS?! YOU WHINY PRICK! LIKE TAKING CANDY FROM AN OVERGROWN BABY!!!” “DID YOU PLAN ALL OF THIS, YOU COMMON LIFE FORM?!” he yelled at F’lux. “Of course I did!” F’lux suddenly shifts mood… the mood he had when he was getting his revenge. “But you shouldn’t be focusing on me…” It’s like F’lux was giving me time to prepare as I brought out the Alpha Boss Blades and… Activating my God Mode… [Switching to third person point of view] “So you guys can turn into gods,” F’lux glanced at Ms. Y and Ms. Z. “And I thought that you were stupid enough to go to Providence…” Watching Mr. X and Suoic Ipsus exchange blow… well actually… Mr. X evading the attacks easily… Ms. Y stared at F’lux, “What’s that supposed to mean?” “It means that… my you surpassed my expectations,” he answered back… “You’re not going to use this moment to strike?” Ms. Z was having second thoughts about taking out her weapons or not. “I made a deal with you,” F’lux fired up a portal, “from a human to fellow humans… this is where I make my leave.” “Where are you going?” Ms. Y asked as the once decorated hall slowly got torn apart by the battle of Mr. X and Suoic Ipsus. “Why do you ask, are you going to miss me?” he playfully teased her. “Hell no…” Ms. Y turned away from him. “I’m just kidding, or am I?” F’lux smirked as he entered the portal. “I’m going to give you Emissaries my supposed work since you can turn into gods yourselves… Now if you will excuse me, I will be looking for Czarina to get her out of this mess…” “What if she doesn’t,” Ms. Y pressed on, “and decided to fight?” “She will…” F’lux slowly closed the portal, bidding Ms. Y adieu, “for I told her of my plans… ta-ta~…” “Ms. Y,” Ms. Z was preparing to contact the HQ. “I’m going to have the civilians return back to their vehicles. Do you have any plans on how to do this?” “I actually have no idea,” Ms. Y looked at the scared civilian passengers, the driver and the bus conductor. “We might disrupt the mysticism behind it…” “Behind what?” “When these we were transported to this world, did time in that world stop and that finishing the game or defeating Suoic Ipsus is the only way of returning them back…” Ms. Y sighed I don’t know. “I was actually listening to that Destiny Seeker when he was explaining. He said that we were all transported here moments before meet our grizzly fate that would kill us all maybe by falling down a cliff or colliding with another vehicle. That means, that time must’ve stopped in that world…” “Or it could be that we are in another place besides Providence,” Ms. Z was made aware of the environment. “There are no black particles floating around…” “So the only way of saving the people is by defeating Suoic Ipsus…” Ms. Y clenched her fists. “You need to beat him, Mr. X…”
