I want You to see the Bigger Picture

2519 Words
There is a cruise ship arriving at the capital city exactly 30 minutes before Suoic Ipsus attacks Mr. X. The scenario plays like this… a beautiful woman in a purple dress accidentally sneezes in front of some gentlemen. “I’m sorry,” the beautiful woman lowers her head. “It seemed that the cold wind got to me…” The gentleman wipes his face, “No it’s fine, young lady. You are rather attractive, young miss. It seemed like I haven’t seen you a while ago in the party.” “P-party, yes I was but maybe you had not noticed me,” the beautiful woman gives the gentlemen a warm smile. “I need to go back to my room now…” “May I have you number or your name perhaps?” “I’m not familiar with my own number,” she waves her hand. “You may call me V…” “Are you from here?” “No, I’m just visiting my friend…” V waves her hand again. “I’ll be excusing myself now…” “Why are you in a rush?” the gentleman asks. “Lorenz, your nose…” one of the gentlemen gives his friend his handkerchief. “They’re bleeding… cough!” When the friend coughs, blood came out from his mouth as well. And just like that, the beautiful woman named V is gone. A few fifteen more minutes later, the ship hits the port causing mass damage and panic. However, the mass panic doesn’t stop there because… just like in video games and in TV, the previous passengers inside the cruise ship jump out in a frenzy attacking the living and start causing havoc. The passengers turned into zombies… “Ouch,” Inside the ship, Ms. V rubs her forehead. “I should’ve prepared for the impact…” She looks at a zombie searching for human flesh and sees her. “What are you looking at?” she glares at the zombie. “Move along, infected…” The zombie ignores her and leaves… - Ω - Ω - Ω - “I’ll get changed into my hazmat suit soon, and get Mr. O to use standard precautionary measures.” Ms. V murmurs as he summons the door guy. With voice like that of Prof. Snape, Mr. O sarcastically speaks through the gateway, “You should remember Ms. V that nothing comes inside this room from the outside no matter how much dirt you… throw. I’ll be waiting here when get dressed.” “I really hate the tone of your voice, you know?” “FYI, you aren’t the only person to tell me that.” Mr. O sits down and checks his laptop. “Are you sure that you’re leaving?” “Now that you asked,” Ms. V ponders for a bit. “I’ll stay here some more to make sure that the virus remains potent.” “A wise decision,” Mr. O closes the gateway. “Tell me when you are ready…” “Yeah, sure Mr. O,” Ms. V checks her wristwatch. “I’ve been here for 35 minutes. How many towns would it take me to reach Mr. X? OH yeah, I’m alone again…” she takes off her dress to change to a more casual outfit. - Ω - Ω - Ω - Present Time~ “You stopped moving away from me,” Ara stops approaching him. “No, I have a question,” Mr. X grins. “How lucky do you think I am?” “I don’t know,” Ara starts to walk towards him again, “Surprise me.” Suddenly, from out of nowhere, a helicopter crashes inside the hotel in between Ara and Mr. X blocking her from getting him. Mr. X raises his right hand with his fingers crossed and bows down to her like it’s a magic show. “Honestly, holy s**t,” Mr. X runs off. “I was also surprised by that!!!” Ara turns to Suoic and speaks their god language, “YOU IMBECILE OF A BROTHER!” Suoic answers back using the same language, “WHAT DID I DO? THESE MORTALS ARE IN MY WAY!” “YOU JUST HELP MR. X ESCAPE!” Ara realizes the danger she is in and jumps off transforming into her spider dragonfly form. A few moments later, the helicopter suddenly explodes causing some floors of the hotel to crumble down. “He couldn’t have gotten away. Maybe, he’s still inside.” - Ω - Ω - Ω - During the escape though~ “Who would’ve thought that I ended up in a room of someone with a parachute lying around,” Mr. X, as if by chance of luck, enters the appropriate room for escape. “Now, where should I go?” His communication device attached behind his ears suddenly makes an alert. Projecting from his mask is Ms. V who seems to be sitting down on a park while zombies all around her are killing civilians. “Are you going to answer, Mr. X?” “Sure, but let me make my escape first.” Mr. X goes outside the terrace and glides down landing on top of a smaller building. “Ms. V, this is the second time I saw you out of your hazmat suit.” “Yes, it has been,” she gives him the cold gaze. “The first time you saw me was when you stumbled upon my room, while I am…” “For the nth time, I am sorry,” Mr. X scratches his head. “I told you that I can’t control my luck…” “Luck does not have to do with you seeing me naked,” Annoyed, Ms. V punches a hole in one of the zombies’ face instantly killing it. “You zombies are noisy! Hunt somewhere else!” The rest of the zombies in the park look at each other and left in fear. Ms. V does not only carry diseases, she can also control their brains like the zombie mushroom does to ants. “Ms. V, I am being chased by Seekers so shall we have another chat later?” Before Mr. X ends the conversation, “Aren’t you supposed to be leaving? You’ve done your part already.” “We are cities apart,” Ms. V picks up a gun from a fallen policeman. “I’ll mess with the survivors for a bit. Not all humans turn into zombies. There would always be those who are carriers like me. Another illness would take care of them…” “Among all the people who donned the Ms. V persona, I guess you are the most stable one so far… and apparently the most sensible.” Mr. X leaves the conversation. “I thought he would say most beautiful though. He’s just lucky to be immune… and… see me naked…” Ms. V shoots a zombie several times upon remembering it. “WGHOT … GDID HI…JU ROUNG?” the zombie crawls away from Ms. V. - Ω - Ω - Ω - “Good,” Ara smacks Suoic in the head. “Playing too much caused you to become abnormal! If you played cool like I do, you wouldn’t have the military looking for you right now. Also, you should leave that guy in a white suit persona of yours and wear something more casual.” “You eventually transformed into your monster form,” Suoic smirks. “That’s because you shove a helicopter inside the hotel when I was about to capture your guy!” “He was using his luck powers,” he explains. “I didn’t do anything! By the way, your car is nice. You’ve got TV in here… let’s check the news of what we did.” “You did, not me.” Ara turns the TV on. “Are you seeing this?” “Zombies in this world,” he raises an eyebrow. “Maybe that’s fake news…” “Apparently, it’s true…” Ara begins to have deeper suspicions. “This couldn’t have been a mere coincidence.” “Do you mean to say that Mr. X is behind this zombie outbreak?” Suoic scoffs, “THAT’S PREPOSTEROUS!” “This world is dying,” Ara gets out of the vehicle. “Get changed, brother…” “Where are you going?” Suoic starts to feel more irritable. “This isn’t just the ones in the universe with life, you know?” “I’m calling back up.” She tosses him the car key. “Seriously, we are the ones being played here right now.” - Ω - Ω - Ω - “How long will the infection travel?” Finding a safe place to hide, Mr. X contacts Ms. V. “It’s a surprise that you are still alive,” Ms. V pretends to pick up her phone and leaves the other survivors. “I’m with fellow survivors right now.” “A change of heart perhaps?” he asks, “Anyway, how long?” “Let me see, 9:26 a.m.,” she calculates the remaining hours left. “16 to 17 hours more and it would spread like wildfire. Well I guess this world deserves to survive. Alpha Boss would’ve wanted the same outcome…” “Are you sure that nobody’s listening?” “Why, you wanted to talk some more?” “Well I just woke up and the government is still looking for our ‘monsters’ who might still be looking for me,” Mr. X checks outside through the window of his hiding place. “Listen, are there males with you?” “Yeah of course, why’d you ask?” Ms. V teases him, “Are you jealous or something that I might end up sleeping with one of them?” “W-why would I get jealous?” “You’re becoming defensive…” she chuckles. “I’m not,” Mr. X sighs. “Anyway, I think I’ll head out now.” “You’re not leaving this world?” “Not yet,” Mr. X calms his heart with deep breathing as he drops a crumpled paper on the bed. “I have to push myself further to see how lucky I am… so… wish me luck!” After he ends the call, Ms. V whispers, “good luck…” - Ω - Ω - Ω - “The games are cancelled for now, Berdor Niel.” Ara welcomes their other youngest sibling. “We’re against some mortal with unimaginably powerful luck.” “I should’ve brought my twin,” Berdor takes a look at the memories of Ara and Suoic. “Zonoute might be able to negate our target’s gift.” “If you fail… like we did,” Suoic irritably slams his fist on a table, “we’ll call Zonoute.” “Why won’t we use our powers of sight to easily locate this ‘Mr. X’?” Berdor asks. “We did,” Ara sits down on a bed and sniffs his pillow. “This is the last place he’s been.” “He also left us his note,” Suoic angrily hands it to Berdor. “I’m losing my cool as gentleman here…” - Ω - Ω - Ω - Dear Destiny Seekers, It’s me, Mr. X. Have you seen the news on TV? Amazing how FORTUNATE I am isn’t it? Aside from you DIPSHITS, I have to be facing zombies soon! You should use those to your LIKING. Do you GODS even get sick? If you ask me, I am lucky enough to be immune. Yes, you read it from LUCKY me! You PLAYED with human lives and destroy their supposed destinies. Now, I am going to MESS yours, Suoic Ipsus… Seriously, can’t you do this on your own? I guess not… Ara, my dear, you are gorgeous wearing that MASK. I wish you were the MASK you wear. However, you are like your fellow seeker… a MONSTER. I’ve insulted you enough. Good bye losers! Mr. X - Ω - Ω - Ω - “You never told me you could jam even the eyes of the gods,” Mr. X compliments Mr. C. “I am impressed.” “You know Mr. X,” Mr. C lights up a cigarette, “I can’t leave you to fight gods on your own. Consider this as my humble gift. Ms. V should’ve been notified as well. You can still contact each other and the rest of us. So… how are you holding up?” “I’m on my way to the next city.” Driving a motorcycle, Mr. X looks straight up ahead. “I have to get far from the infected and the seekers.” “I have a personal question for you, Mr. X.” “Tell me…” “The previous Mr. X before you came told me once about a Luck Journal,” Mr. C recalls. “Are you still continuing their work?” “Probably…” Mr. X sighs. “It’s like a need for us to find the extent of our luck. However, I don’t intend to have another Mr. X taking over because there is nothing that can break my luck!” “If you don’t mind, what kind of misfortune befell the previous one?” “The same thing that got the others before me,” Mr. X checks the perimeter for the enemies, “the act of heroism by virtue of self-sacrifice…” “…” “Thanks,” Mr. X laughs. Mr. C asks, “For what?” “Nothing,” Mr. X hears a movement. Right now, he is under the sewers with his mask acting as his air purifier. “I need to go…” “Just keep it cool, kid.” Mr. C ends the chat. “Yup… you’ve got a long way to go. You have to see a bigger picture…”
