The low moaning of the city beyond became silent as Joel shut the door of the bedroom behind him. His glance lingered on to Olivia who sat at the edge of the bed, her hair falling around her shoulders like silk. She had a gentleness in her look, but there was a light in her look that drew him near, and undid all his reservations.
