I'm a ball of nerves as we make our way down to Luca's room. My heart is still heavy recalling all that Titus told me about their mother. The anger that I was holding onto has been replaced with despair for young Luca. No wonder he didn't want to find me. I can't even imagine how terrifying it was for him to live with that, let alone believe that history could repeat itself. It also makes me understand his need to have guards around me at all times.
But I will have to do my best to prove to him that it doesn't have to be that way.
