Dylan struggled to lift his head to look at me. His once bright eyes were now dull and filled with confusion and pain. My heart ached at the sight of him so weak and vulnerable, a stark contrast to the strong and confident alpha he had always been.
"Mandy, how?" His voice was barely a whisper, barely audible over the quiet hum of the room.
I knelt beside him, gently brushing a strand of hair away from his forehead. "How are you here?" he asked, his voice filled with disbelief.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I tried to explain, "We carried you here, don't you remember? You announced to the pack that I was the new Luna and passed out." My voice cracked with emotion as I handed him a glass of water, watching as he struggled to lift it to his lips.
