Chapter 3.

I was forcefully brought back to consciousness when a cold bucket of water was poured on me. Shivering from the cold, I looked around my surroundings and noticed I was locked in a cell in the Blood Moon pack’s dungeon. As the memory of what happened last night at the mating ball ceremony came flooding back at me, it brought me to the present reality of my life. The cell was suddenly opened by a fierce-looking guard. “Who are you?” “Why am I here?” I asked. The guard came inside and dragged me out without saying a word. He held me roughly, dragging me with him to wherever he was taking me. “Where are you taking me to? " "Please tell me if my mother is still alive." I begged the guard, but he kept ignoring me as he dragged me along with him, and we suddenly stopped. I looked up to see myself in the pack’s new building. My father had just finished the new pack house building project and planned to move in after the mating ball ceremony, before he was killed. As if he could hear my thoughts, Alpha Lottana came out of the new building and the guard bowed to him in respect. “My greetings Alpha Lottana. Here is the late Alpha’s daughter you asked to be brought to you.” The guard said and pushed me forward. I started shivering in fear, my heart was beating fast when I saw his face and his cold look. I was standing right in front of the man who murdered her father and captured her. I have heard about Alpha Lottana's acts of wickedness towards other packs and his many concubines. “I was told you're cursed and without a wolf. You are weak and useless and don’t have any value to this pack except in my bed as my concubine." "Choose now to be one of my concubines, or you will die,” Alpha Lottana said in a mean and authoritative voice. Some pack members once threatened to sell me to Alpha Lottana as one of his concubines. I guess their wish is about to become a reality. I didn't care if I lived or died anymore. I have lost everything precious to me. I believe my mother, too, was killed by the enemies. I was about to tell him i would rather die than be his concubine when my mother, Luna Aliyah, was also dragged out by the same guard to Alpha Lottana . “You're still alive, Mom. Are you alright? Did they hurt you?” I threw many questions at my mother without waiting for her to reply accordingly. “Enough of this nonsense!" Alpha Lottana bellowed, which made me and my mother shake in fear. “I have given you an option. You have a choice to save yourself and your mother's lives by being one of my concubines, or I’ll kill both of you now.” It was so heart-wrenching for me to see my mother go through this after losing my father. She just has to save them and keep them alive until they take back her father's pack. “I’m not doing this because I want to; I'm doing it to save my mother's life and not because I want to be your concubine,” I sneered at him. “It's none of my damn business if you want to or not. My guards will take you to my mansion.” Alpha Lottana bellowed as he walked out on us. “I'm sorry, mom.” I muffled in my mom's arms as tears began to flow down my cheeks. My mother's posture was bad. I could tell from the way I was struggling to hold her. She must have been through so much. “It's okay dear. You don't have to sell yourself to him, Alpha Lottana is too ruthless for you. You shouldn't have,” my mother lamented. “I had no choice, Mom. I had to do something or else we wouldn't be alive to take revenge on him,” I explained, releasing myself from her embrace. The guard scoffed and tilted his head to signal me to move along. I gave my mother one last long hug before I was dragged out by the guard. We got to the front of the mansion’s gate and my limbs began to tremble. I was terrified of what I would be expected to do as we walked into the mansion and went straight into Lottana chambers. Now, Alpha Lottana was seated on his gold-encrusted couch that faced the door to the chambers. He got off the couch and his cold eyes were fixed on me, his gaze so into my soul that I couldn't dare make eye contact for too long. “You have made yourself useful for once in your pathetic life. Your mother would be free to leave or stay.” My eyes were streaming down with tears. I have made a huge mistake. I couldn't hold the pain I felt in my heart; if only I had a wolf, perhaps things wouldn't have turned out the way they are. “Your weakness amuses me.” Lottana hissed, an awkward frown taking control of his face. He's right, without a wolf, I'm nothing, just another pitiful weakling. “I'm more than you think,” I responded, as opposed to what he expected, wiping the tears off my face. "Haha!” Lottana erupted with laughter. “Oh really? I would love to see what you think you are,” he asked sarcastically, and placed his hands on my shoulders, pretending to care about what I had to say. “Look here, I have two sons and fifty concubines. You shall not only serve me but them also,” he said in a firm voice, displaying his dominance. Just about time, two beautiful women walked in majestically. One swayed into the Alpha's hands while the other walked towards me right after she paid her obeisance. “Hi, I'm Anita, one of Lottana's concubines.” Her voice sounded so welcoming and genuine. “I'm Rose. " Uhhhh, his new concubine.” I answered with a gloomy look on my face. “Don't worry, it's not that bad here,” she comforted me. Maybe I'm too quick to judge, but I can tell she is a good person. I feel safe in her presence. “Rose?” The other woman called to me over Lottana's shoulder. I turned to look at her. My heart started beating fast as I beheld her wretched face.
