I move onto the next dampener and shoot again, the silencer in the gun makes every gunshot inaudible, the kickback shifting my hand slightly upward. Some people yell and run frantically through the steps and into the building, others stand like statues and watch me with wide-open eyes. I gather enough energy in my free hand as the power of the dampeners dies out and two of Cleis’ men reach for their guns. I jump from the edge of the building into the open balcony while throwing the ball of energy directly towards the hands of one of his men. The gun he was holding flies in the air, a loose shot reverberating through the open roof and sending the last of the people staring running away in a frenzy.
