Chapter 7
As soon as Luis stepped out into the corridor, he knew he was going to ignore part of what Tegwin said. He spotted Ben in the nurses’ office, chatting with one of the doctors on duty. Luis was willing to bet the healthy population allowed for a few unscheduled breaks for medical personnel.
Ben smiled when he caught sight of Luis.
“Everything going well back there?”
“Good so far, Ben. Just finished up the initial mapping and calibration. Listen, if you have a few minutes, I’d love to speak to you.”
“You bet. When we actually do have an emergency around here, it can be a bad one. But most of the time, we’re pretty laid back. Walk with me?”
“Show me your town.”
